If there was one actual gift Corporate had given them, it was that they couldn’t remember what humans actually looked like, not even Tessa; so J could pretend the skin Cyn wore was just some nameless organic jackass she had decided she liked the look of. Or that she’d even grown it herself with her disgusting, hideous supernatural powers.
The denial never lasted long when she had to be in close contact with Corporate, and once it stopped working things got… well they got bad.
But J has endured everything Cyn's rotten, vindictive core could throw at her, what else does she have to lose?

Nicole and Jecka are not a good match.
They enable their worst habits, hurt everyone around them, and can’t go a month without blowing up at each other. Their communication is terrible, their coping skills minimal, and their ‘solutions’ never actually fix or address anything close to the problem.
They are, by any and all definitions, extremely toxic.
But, really, none of that matters, because they’re gonna make it work no matter who or what they need to sacrifice to get there in the end. They’re not worth the effort? Says who? Not really for anybody else to decide, now is it?
Being alone is bad enough.
Being alone without the one person who really gets you, for better or mostly worse?
Fuck that.
