He needs the Ocean, he aches to be close to the water. When he’s not, Sokka gets nervous, almost like he is missing out on something that is waiting for him out there.

Zuko would have never considered going to Comic Con, if he hadn’t found out that one of the original Japanese voice actors of his favorite anime series The Blue Spirit would be appearing at the panel. Not only does he cosplay as his hero, he also signs up for one of the competition. He doesn't expect to come across the prettiest girl he's ever seen, nor does he have any idea that he's in for a surprise.

“Chief Hakoda. I am troop leader Hahn. By order of Chief Arnook and our council, I bring twenty-six ships, four-hundred spears and blades, sixty waterbenders and medical support. We’re here to answer the Avatar’s call. Until the end of the war our fleet will sail under your command.”
Hakoda doesn’t register a single word after ‘Hahn’. His mouth opens and he stares at the young man completely dumb-folded while his heart beats painfully like a war drum. The air is knocked from his lungs as if he’d been punched. Hahn might as well have done so, the impact would have been the same. Though probably easier to handle.
This is the man.
Not just an idea, not just a name in Sokka’s mouth. Not a necklace. The living, breathing man, who holds Sokka’s heart, is standing right in front of him.

If he wasn’t such a coward, Zuko would have just gone to his house. Walked right up to the estate with the crimson flowers climbing up the white walls outside. He would’ve knocked and said something. Instead, Zuko is at this party that he doesn’t want to be at, because of the vague possibility that his old friend might show up.

Sokka is captured by the Fire Nation just as Ba Sing Se falls. Due to be executed on Fire Lord Ozai’s orders, Zuko steps in and claims Sokka as his war prize, taking him as his First Consort.
It’s not a match made in heaven, but more of a fight to the finish line. Sokka wants to be free and Zuko wants to take down Ozai. Neither of them know if the Avatar lives, but they need to work together if they want to succeed.
There’s just the small matter of both of them having to convince the Fire Nation court that they are lovers, rather than mortal enemies…
