Summary
Everyone is born with a soulmark on their forearm, about a sentence long. The sentence is what your soulmate was doing the first time your souls meet; the first time you touch, skin to skin. After you meet, the words change into your soulmate's name.
James loves the concept of soulmates, but has always dreaded meeting his.
Regulus had expected a different type of meeting the first time he read the way he met his soulmate, but he supposes this was fine as well.

Summary
At the beginning of the Hogwarts 1977-1978 school year, James Potter finds a cat and Regulus Black finds a Horcrux.
These events are not unrelated.
What follows is a deal to their mutual benefit: James helps Regulus hone the finer details of advanced transfiguration, and in return, Regulus teaches James what he knows of occlumency and legilimency. James is pleasantly surprised by how much he enjoys their lessons, certainly more than he thought he would considering what (admittedly little) he knows of Sirius’s younger brother. Regulus, for his part, thought he was smart enough to know that anyone with as many secrets as him has no business teaching fucking mind reading to another person. Especially when that person is James Potter.
There is affection—the kind that only comes from meeting someone you never expected to understand you. And there is war—a looming thunderhead that neither of them wants to see consume the other.
The rest is a matter of secrets, family, and letting go.

Summary
One night Sirius and Remus were caught kissing by Regulus. The next morning it was all over the school. James, unable to accept the betrayal of Sirius' own brother forcibly outing his best friend, seeks revenge by planning to do the same to Regulus.
Only it doesn't go as planned (read: James unbiddenly falls in love).
Only things aren't quite as they seem. In the end the one who bears the brunt of it all, undeservingly as it turns out, is Regulus.

It happened in the blink of an eye.
One minute, he and Loki were driving along a deserted road on their way back from a party, listening to music, laughing. Thor took his eyes off the road for a second to look over at Loki, feeling a rush of affection for his brother at the carefree way he sang along to the radio, purposely off-key. “Free Fallin’” was the song they were listening to, ironically.
The next thing he knew, they were crashing through a guardrail, sailing over the edge of a bridge, and plunging into the water below.

Ch 1-3: 8 year old Katsuki's quirk catches the eye of human traffickers who run a fight club. Izuku tries to stop the kidnapping and gets taken, too. Unable to fight like Katsuki, they find a different use for Izuku's body. After 9 months of hell, Katsuki finally snaps, destroying the entire compound in order to save them both, forging an unbreakable bond between them.

Ch 21 and on: However, a run-in with one of Izuku’s past abusers nearly ends with Katsuki killing again. In danger of being locked up for good, the boys get one last chance at freedom in the form of adoption by pro hero Eraserhead and Present Mic.
