Summary
After all, Mori couldnʼt afford to lose such a precious piece in his game of chess when he could be the one leading the win for them. Chuuya was powerful enough without Arahabaki—which, the redhead was almost completely sure of, was probably the only reason he hadnʼt been killed off yet.
It was quite safe to assume the effects would be tenfold after he hadnʼt let the God of Calamity out of its confines for almost over four years.
Or: Chuuya experiences migraines and nosebleeds due to the use of Corruption, and is left to deal with them alone after defeating Lovecraft. Sometimes, even the strongest fall down. And perhaps, in those times, they just need a trustworthy hand to lift them up and carry them for awhile.

Akutagawa’s hand slipped lower. His belt unbuckled with terrifying precision, the cool slide of fingers against heated skin making Atsushi jolt and gasp outright. The sensation burned and thrilled all at once, pleasure spiking up his spine. He bit back a noise, clutching harder at Akutagawa’s shoulders, and then—
“Is everything okay here?” A voice rang down the hall, closer with each step. “Heard something loud!”
They broke apart like they’d been burned, scrambling so fast it was a miracle neither of them cracked their skulls on the wall. Atsushi caught on the edge of his half-unbuckled pants and went down hard, landing with a graceless thump that knocked the breath out of him.
Which left him on his ass. Directly in front of Akutagawa. Face level with — oh god.
“He tripped and fell,” Akutagawa said flatly, the picture of deadpan denial.

He watches Chuuya fall asleep, slow and soft, in small bits. He is so beautiful, and he is mine. All mine.
I am the first person he smiled at.

I am the first person who has held him like this.
He is mine. He will always be mine now, after these things.
Dazai thinks, for a moment, that he might not ever get to feel things, or see the world the way most people do, or find a reason to live. But he can live for this, for him. For this boy. He does not care about birds or parks or trees or people, does not feel all that much when he sees the sunrise or sunset or the stars and the moon. He does not like dogs or children. He does not like the world.
But he likes Chuuya. He likes the way Chuuya looks when he is looking at all these things.

Dazai blinked up at Chuuya like he’d been dragged out of a dream too fast—hair a mess, mouth parted and bitten-raw, eyes bright and unfocused. His pupils were blown in that sickeningly endearing way that made Chuuya want to bury his head in Dazai’s chest and sink the earth into its own foundations.
He looked pretty. He looked wrecked. He looked like he’d hate anyone else seeing him like this.
There were too many warring emotions in Chuuya’s chest to make sense of any of them, but he knew what he wanted to do, so he did it—he leaned in and kissed the exposed gap at Dazai’s throat where the bandages had unraveled, so careful it almost didn’t make sense.
Dazai’s throat moved. He tried to smirk. Couldn’t quite get it to stick. Then Chuuya opened his mouth and sunk his teeth into the vulnerable skin—gentle, but undeniably possessive. A claim placed right where Dazai’s pulse betrayed him.
You are alive. I won’t let you leave.
Chuuya’s patience is a kind of pressure. Dazai caves to it in increments.
