“Awh, poor baby,” she teased, though she did relent at the pout he gave her. “What do you mean when you say bright, though? Bright, like her clothes are reflective? Or she shone something in your eyes?”
“No,” Venti huffed distractedly, his pained flinch when Jean kneaded his scalp making Amber look at him in sympathy. She’d make him a good cup of chamomile tea later. “She glows, not her clothes. You’ll see when you meet her.”

Summary
“Are you alright?” Diluc asks eventually into the coolness of the night.
Kaeya blinks, and that’s the only sign of recognition he gives. After a long few moments, Kaeya turns to look at him, and he looks small. He looks like a little boy again.
“I’m tired, ‘Luc,” he murmurs, holding his gaze for another moment, before looking away again.
Diluc is quiet.
“Me too,” he sighs eventually.
Neither of them speak, and then finally, Kaeya rests his head upon Diluc’s shoulder. It’s tentative, but at the same time, sure. It’s familiar, and Diluc knows without a doubt that he won’t push Kaeya away. It’s the most contact they’ve had in years, but the weight of Kaeya against him feels freeing.
Diluc puts his arm around Kaeya’s shoulders, feels him tremble slightly against him. Kaeya isn’t alright, he realises, but he doesn’t know how to pry. He doesn’t know how to ask to be privy to something he so forcefully removed himself from. So instead, he holds Kaeya, firmly, gently, in a way that he hopes makes him feel safe. He feels eased with the knowledge that Kaeya can’t slip from the roof now, not without Diluc knowing, not without Diluc stopping him.
