Summary
After the crazy Halloween and being forced into the Wardens, Harry realizes that the White Council protect Chicago. Chicago would have burned before they realized there was an issue. Those within the Supernatural Community didn't trust them and he decides that something had to be changed. So he gathers the Community at Mac's to decide how to protect Chicago without the Council. They needed someone who could do the political side of things as well as command the authority to keep beings in check. There weren't many who fit both criteria. One big one was a man who continually tried to put himself into the line of fire; despite the fact he was a vanilla mortal. John Marcone. If they chose him, he would need a Protector as he was still a mortal. Harry has to make a choice on whether or not he could put aside his feelings for the man for the good of his city. A bond like what would be created for a Protector bond would destroy the ties that bound him to the Council and to the Winter Queen. Little does he know he has already been bound to Marcone for nearly a decade.
