“You missed me,” George cuts him off and wraps his arms around his neck, pulling Dream into a second hug that’s somehow warmer than the first, even if less forceful.
“I missed you,” Dream affirms, the top of George’s head so close to his lips that he can feel his breathing shifting his hair. “So much, George.”
“I know,” George whispers, and Dream can hear the smile in his voice. And Dream knows that even if he doesn’t say it, the way George’s thumb brushes against his hair at the nape of his neck means I missed you too.
or; George comes home for the summer after his first year away at college, and Dream decides 800 miles of driving are his last chance to convince him to stay.

Summary
George’s eyes opened to a flash, his heart hammering in his chest as a new roar of thunder reverberated across his bedroom. He froze, gripping his covers with white knuckles and labored breaths as he waited for the noise to pass. Once the rumbling faded, George couldn’t help but feel a little ridiculous. It’s just a storm, he told himself. It used to rain in London all the time. He sighed, the breath shaky as he steadily eased his death-grip on his bedsheets. I am not scared of a stupid thunderstorm.
His entire room was engulfed in white, the clap of lightning bringing booming thunder with it. George shot up in alarm, his heart racing in his chest and roaring in his ears. With wide eyes, he yanked his knees to his chest and brought his bedsheets with them.
Maybe he was scared of a stupid thunderstorm.
Or, George struggles in dealing with his first experience with Florida weather.

“I care about it because the guy is mysterious! He had no expression, at all. It was really weird, but hot-” Nick rambled, his voice going slightly louder before Clay shushed him. “I want to get to know him more. I want to dissect him,” Nick whispered, dipping his head low.
Clay wheezed, “that sounds fucking creepy,” before turning back to his work. “We need to get this assignment done before the bell rings.”

Nonetheless, he made a quick mental note to clear up conspiracies later and followed Dream out the door.
Nobody told them raising a child would be easy, but nobody said the difficulty of trying to keep him a secret from over 20 million people would make increase tenfold

“‘N more hoodies,” George answers with a frown, nuzzling deeper into the pulse of his neck and whimpering when it beats against the curl of his nose.
“Oh love,” Dream sighs unexpectedly, pulling away and eliciting a high whine from George at the missing comfort. Dream doesn’t pull away far, not far enough for his body heat to escape their proximity, but it’s not as warm as before, and that’s enough for George to complain.
But then Dream reaches around himself and tugs at his own hoodie, slowly starting to pull it up. George is quick to protest with a frown. “But you’ll-”
“Shhh,” Dream coos quietly into his temple, kissing it before continuing softly, “let me take care of you.”
George is having a bad morning, but thankfully, Dream is there to warm him up.
