Summary
Steve Harrington has a problem and it seems that Eddie Munson is his only solution.
Nevermind that he has never met Eddie, or that he seems a little weird from what Steve can gather, Steve just needs a place to live that's cheap enough and Eddie is offering exactly that. A roommate in a one-bedroom apartment should be fine. Even if there's only one bed, right? They're never even going to meet each other since they keep opposite schedules.
But Steve can't live with someone he barely knows, he has a weird curiosity about his quirky roommate. He has a genius solution and they begin to communicate through notes.

Summary
Steve's been the sole owner and operator of Steve's Sweets in Bloomington, Indiana for the last few years- ever since he graduated and left Hawkins in his rearview mirror. His experience at Steve's Sweets has been perfect. He's had Robin Buckley, bookshop owner and his newfound platonic soulmate as his neighbor-to-the-right, and Mrs. Crossley, an elderly woman with a yarn shop, as his neighbor-to-the-left.
Mrs. Crossley is getting up in years, though, and her decision to sell her yarn shop leads to a change Steve was not anticipating, and one he certainly doesn't welcome.
Corroded Coffin Tattoo and Piercing is Steve's neighbor-to-the-left now, and with the new shop comes its owner, Eddie Munson. Eddie is brash, loud, and possibly the worst person that Steve's ever met.
Eddie just wants a new beginning. Steve just wants Eddie to stay out of the way.

Summary
Even though Eddie's name has been cleared legally, he's still very much on trial in the court of public opinion. Dealing drugs isn't a lucrative occupation anymore, and getting a legitimate job in a town who still considers him a killer isn't much of an option, either. Eddie is beginning to think skipping town and starting over somewhere no one knows his name is the only chance he has left. Steve has another idea.
AKA: Steve gets Eddie a job as an anonymous columnist at a local newspaper.

He probably could’ve gone to that diner that’s open twenty-four hours for a shitty cup of coffee, but they’re starting to know him by name there now, and not in that starstruck, wow, it’s Steve Harrington, from the radio! way that he’s used to. It’s the same at that Rise & Shine coffee place across the street from the KFAM building. Honestly, he could’ve probably done with a cup of coffee to warm him up. It’s a cold November night, and Steve shivers, feeling the breeze through his jacket.
Awaiting him in what’s probably the only up-to-code building in Hawkins is 189.16–The Scream.
The only station that would hire him after his on-air disaster in Chicago.

Now this was the type of guy Eddie was looking for. And from the looks of his cute little pride pin next to his name tag on his vest, he had some good odds of getting into his pants. A Steve, huh? The name suited him, with that all American hunk thing he had going on. The exact kind of guy that Eddie loved to fuck into the mattress until they cried.
