Yet another fucking thing needs doing, and the Killjoys can't just waltz into the city this time. What's more, they can't even do what needs doing together. This time, they have to split up into two teams while Fun Ghoul recovers from his broken ribs; Jet and Kobra, and Poison and Parade. Fresh off their murder attempt at the premier wedding in the Zones, Parade still struggles with their mind - though this time, it isn't because they are forgetting things. Instead, they've remembered something- no, someone, far more important to them than Maude Black had ever been. And truth be told, she is their mission, Killjoys be damned.

The train is broken down, the turnstiles to the underground levels of the city are closed, and the people of the zones all need help, but if the Killjoys can manage to make it out the other side of the zones' restoration, the promise of a beachfront wedding is waiting for Party Poison and Fun Ghoul. That is, if they survive that long...

Outside the city, we follow the young zoner, York, who lives at the bottom of Dead Man's Drop with her adoptive mother and siblings. What will York do in the zones, with snow breaking the lift to the top and covering the only other way up?

The Killjoys have never had a chance to participate in the Drive for the Tree, but this year will be their year. Hopefully.

The prince of a neighboring kingdom visits the kingdom of Kurain to stay for a week. Only he wasn't the one who was supposed to be there, originally.
