Summary
The Avengers’ deal with Midgardian authorities to support their battle against Thanos hinges on Asgard's continued protection.
As usual, Loki is the spanner in the works. Odin's fury over his escape could put the whole of the negotiations in peril, and it's up to Thor to make peace between the two worlds. To have any chance of succeeding he'll have to return to Asgard and seek Odin's forgiveness-as will the defiant Loki.
Can Loki bring himself to beg for forgiveness from the Father he hates in order to please the Brother he loves?This work follows the events of 'When A Door Closes' but can be read as a standalone piece without too much confusion.

Sequel to How Desperate Are You?
Returning to Midgard after an absence of almost two years, Loki finds that as desperate for change as he has been, some changes will take time to get used to, especially when they concern his relationship with Tony and Pepper. Darcy lays down her taser, momentarily and decides to start wielding the internet to the dismay of both the fallen Prince of Asgard and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Outing the trickster god to the general public is going to be difficult for Loki, but equally difficult will be Tony's acceptance that things between the three will change, and not always the way he wants them to.

Loki’s gaze travels slowly over the finely crafted coat, breeches and boots, followed by his fingers. He picks up the coat and strokes thoughtfully over the soft black leather and golden clasps, rubbing his cheek over the vibrant green lining. It looks striking against the dusky blue of his skin. Suddenly Thor cannot wait to see him wear it and he barely swallows his disappointment when Loki places the coat back on the chaise.
“Is it not Odin who wants me to wear these,” Loki asks, sitting down in the plush arm chair that stands perpendicular to the chaise. He settles down sideways in it, his legs dangling over the left arm of the chair and his cheek resting against the high back. “Is my attire and skin insulting his delicate senses? Reminding him of what he brought into his own home because he has grown too fat and weak to defend against Jotunheim should Laufey dare to attack?”

Sif handed him the chain, attached to an overly proud looking Jotunn runt, the one who’d been giving them more trouble than entire armies of full fledged frost giants ever could. He was beaten and bloodied, nothing worse than the injuries Thor had. He couldn’t help but wonder how his men had finally managed to capture and put the magic stifling cuffs and collar on him. He gave the chain a tug, making the runt stumble forward and temporarily knock the cool expression from his face. He regained himself quickly, looking Thor right in the eyes, almost challenging him to keep eye contact.
