Alec shook his head and continued. “I don't even know why I came. I should be prepping for tomorrow anyway. I've got a fuck ton of apples to wash and pie crust to make.”
Izzy fixed Alec with a wry smile as she wrapped her arms around herself for warmth. “You're still going to make apple pie, huh?”
“Of course I am,” Alec said with a humorless laugh, like it was obvious. He tugged his jacket closed and started down the steps, turning back once he reached the sidewalk to say, “Call me if you get arrested.”
Despite being a bystander to Magnus' tumultuous relationship history and hookups for the past few years, and the heartbreak he had suffered because of it, Alec was still going to bake an apple pie for him. Because that's what you do when you're hopelessly in love with your best friend: you bake desserts that you loathe just to see him smile, even if he'll never know what they truly stand for.

people would look sideways at them when Magnus would consistently call him different terms of endearment only for Alec to respond by calling Magnus by his full name.
There had been times Alec had called Magnus pet names, but all of those were while he was almost on the verge of passing out or otherwise incapacitated. Another small issue with that assortment of nicknames: none of them were in English.

Between classes and working every chance he can to be able to pay for his schooling, phone, rent, and everything else in-between, he's exhausted and reaches an impasse. After a conversation with his sister, he throws caution to the wind and creates a sugar baby account just to see what's there and promises to delete it the next day.
Turns out maybe there is a sugar daddy on there who may need him as much as he does. Magnus Bane. A wealthy and influential man who has no business paying for company.

Summary
