Or
Batman is injured resulting in an identity reveal, and Clark is a little too determined to keep that secret from spreading.

He should’ve known better.
To sum it up: Jason kills, Bruce forgets how to communicate like a human being, and Jason isn’t exactly a pro in that area either. A lot of yelling, a lot of crying, call it an impromptu therapy session.

He fancies the business of slavery leaves a palpable odour over the whole place, but the Warlord of the North isn't going to turn down an opportunity to settle this conflict bloodlessly if it presents itself.
Returning to Redania stirs up more bad memories than the White Wolf bargained for however, and words like beast and butcher trail after him in whispers never spoken to his face. He's handling it about as well as he can when King Vizimir makes an unexpected move, sending a gold collared bedslave unannounced to Geralt's room, stinking of fear.

Summary
Jaskier gets fired from his job as a professor at Oxenfurt because of his political views, though the official excuse is that he plagiarised a fellow professor’s work.
Assets seized in reparation, and with nothing more than the belongings he can carry, he ends up accepting a job interview to teach at Kaer Morhen. The school is high up in the mountains, considerably smaller than Oxenfurt, and teaches a far more exotic population of students.
Jaskier has never even met an elf, or a dwarf, or a dragon for that matter. Not to mention anything about the school’s legendary guardians, who, as it happens, don’t seem to like him at all. He can understand. After all, Oxenfurt is far from friendly to anyone that isn’t human. If they don't seem to expect much better from him, he'll just have to show them.

When Jaskier wakes up, the light is uncommonly bright to his eyes, and he has to squint against it. He’s not sure he remembers going to sleep the previous night, and briefly accuses himself of gulping down the bottle of Toussainti wine he’d filched from the inn, leaving a few crowns in its place.He rubs his hands over his face, and realises that as he does so, the strange metallic scent that hangs in the air gets stronger. When he pulls his hands away to look at his palms, he stiffens. There are red stains on the skin, some of it dried and flaking in the creases.
It’s very definitely not wine.

Summary
Throughout his life, being sick for Ryland Grace meant suffering alone. He was a hermit, isolated in his shell, and there was no worse time to be reminded of that than when he's ill. So, he builds his immune system and does what he can to avoid it. Things are going great.
However, after nearly starving and dying in space, being introduced to a new alien planet, and living alone for a few years until Simon showed up means his immune system is basically ruined. When he wakes up with signs of a cold, surely it won't be an issue if he ignores it, right?
