Summary

Ferrari, facing a major loss in sponsorship money, offer him a choice: leave Ferrari and motorsport forever, or agree to an invite only auction for the rights to mate him, with proceeds filling the hole in the budget.
Charles comes up with a plan to save himself, get an alpha he trusts, get Ferrari's money back, and keep his seat.
Unfortunately, Max Verstappen comes up with a plan, too.

“Don’t you love me?” his voice shook with emotion.
“Of course, I love you,” he replied firmly, indignant that he would question such a thing.
“I love you more than anything I could ever imagine,” he whispered, desperateness bleeding into his tone, imploring the other to believe him.
“Then why don’t you act like it!” was shouted back at him with clenched fists, but the voice was strained with emotion, the crack at the end giving away the hurt the other felt more than any anger.
“Why don’t you tell me?” he said while looking away, rapidly blinking the tears to fall from his eyes and to the ground before turning back and continuing in an even weaker voice.
“Why won’t you let me fight for you?” he barely got out, all the fight seemingly having left his body, leaving behind what was only a shell of the once passionate man.
Smiling sadly, he reached down to gently cradle that crumpled face, tilting his head to look at him from where it had been staring at the ground.
“Because I love you,” he started.
And he felt the other tense up as another surge of anger flashed through him.
“I love you more than I love myself, and there’s no greater form of love than sacrifice.”

Summary
Jongseong’s care is a daunting thing. If Sunghoon dwells too much on it, he’ll end up wanting more, and Jongseong’s given him so much that it feels too selfish to keep asking for more.
Sunghoon not asking doesn’t mean Jongseong stops giving. It’s just the way he is. He wishes he’d stop, but his best friend’s self-preservation instincts lie abandoned somewhere in the middle of an ice rink in Seoul.
One day, he hopes it returns to its rightful owner.
Until then, Sunghoon will have to look out for him. He’s the reason it was abandoned after all.
Sunghoon has spent years convincing himself that he isn't the right person for Jongseong, but maybe they were always the only thing in the cards for each other anyway.
