It was a normal Thursday. A typical weeknight in October in Hawkins, Indiana 1983. That was what stayed with Wayne as the hours wore on and Eddie didn't come tearing through, apologizing that he lost track of time again and he was sorry to have gotten everyone worked up, but he was fine, really.
Wayne knew the imagined scenario was too good to be true. Eddie wasn't going to come through to door. The pocket knife abandoned in the middle of the kitchen floor and the bullet holes in the walls of the living room told him that.
His nephew hated guns. To have gotten the M439 out of the gun safe and fire it meant this wasn't just the teenage rebellion Hopper wanted to believe it was.
Something had happened. Something that frightened Eddie enough to make him use the very weapons that had terrified him since he was that little boy Wayne had taken hunting years ago.

Summary
Edward Munson is a creature of habit, and in the end that’s what saves her life. The first thing he does after he sweeps open the door and invites her into the tiny, shared trailer is fish through his cassettes and throw on music, tossing her wink as he slips further down the hall, hunting for the drugs he promised her. Even with her stomach twisting in knots and her hands fighting to stop trembling, she finds herself nodding along to the heavy guitar and rhythmic drums. It is just so very Eddie and Chrissy finds that comforting. Finds it steadying. And when the monster haunting her waking dreams comes calling, it’s the thing that saves her very soul.
A season 4 rewrite wherein Chrissy lives, Jason still goes mad, Vecna is still on the loose, and quite a few things change. Unfortunately, a significant number of things stay the same.
