Mars was colonized. Eden was established. Astrophage threatened life.
Earth sent a ship out to solve the issue. Eden sent a ship out to hunt it down.
Simon and five of his brothers are tasked with rising against the enemies of Eden, destroying the Hail Mary, and ensuring the human hands attempting to stay the hand of God are brought to ruin. The Rapture is coming. Father saw it. The death of the sun is only the beginning. All will end. All will be made new.
Ryland Grace doesn't even know he's running for his life. He's barely holding himself together as he tries to figure out who he is, what he's doing, and how to communicate with an alien he's made friends with. Just as things are looking up, a Martian ship arrives. It looked like it was headed right for him, but then... it turned. Rocky claims there is one living person on board. Alone, just like him. Ryland Grace saved the earth about 30 years ago; For him, it's only felt like 8. Time works differently in space, however the loneliness stays the same. Of course he loves the Eridians, though the strangling desire for human connection has only worsened as he’s grown older— and not aged. Erid's keeping its savior alive, and Ryland hates it.
It manifests into dreams, sick and cruel dreams of a man who could give Ryland everything he ever wanted. As long as the teacher didn’t mind the torment it came with.
So after eight years, he, Rocky, and Adrian embark on a trip light years away from Erid in the hopes of locating the Pavo Constellation, home to a star system full of iron, worship, and desperation. Perhaps they can revive Pavo’s dwindled stars? Locate the man who lingers just behind Grace’s eyes?
Something lurks beyond the cosmos, something that seems to be causing all of Ryland’s frenzied dreams. A man and a monster all the same, perhaps the exact one he promised to save.

Grace hasn't been around another human in so long he has to scramble to remember how to talk to one, which was already a problem before he left earth.

Ryland Grace is an asexual alpha. Simon, the new and only other human on Erid, happens to be an omega. Grace is terrified that Simon might eventually need him as an alpha... How mortifying! Grace could never satisfy his needs as an omega! So Grace is desperately trying to convey that he is NOT a good potential mate or an alpha in general (he always thought he was a good-for-nothing alpha). He just has to be his usual painfully awkward self and everything will be okay!
But... Grace being caring, respectful, kind and selfless by nature does nothing to help his case as Simon naturally warms up to him with time. Somehow, they will have to figure it out.
Or, Simon getting the care and affection he desperately needs from an impossibly gentle alpha (while Grace struggles with his complicated feelings and identity).

If Grace isn't upset already, well, finding out that his cells were used with another human's to make said baby definitely gets him there.
