Still, Chuuya doesn't think this was all his mind's doing. Surely it wouldn't be this intense; surely he wouldn't be turning around after each step to find out from where Dazai's annoying voice was coming from. Surely this isn't his own fantasy; the last thing he needed right now was Dazai's teases and the annoyance that comes with it.
But that doesn't really matter anyway; he can't fight against it more than he did already. He can only lock the door.
Unfortunately, Dazai knew how to pick locks.

Summary
Drugs and alcohol this time, Dazai decided. He peeled himself from the ground with intention- to die. Despite all his failed attempts, all the times he'd opened his eyes in the hospital, each was made with the firm belief that he would not survive it. He stepped to his feet, strode silently across his apartment and chased a handful of Xanax with a bottle of whiskey expecting nothing but death.
(Dazai attempts to kill himself again and Chuuya finds him unconscious on the kitchen floor. Hurt-comfort and angst ensue, but its inspired by Mitski's "Brand New City".)

"...Because truthfully, Chuuya wanted something else. Something more. He'd put off confronting that truth for a few long years but two months ago he woke up coughing out flower petals and there wasn't really any way around it then. Horribly, the disease served as a confirmation that his feelings were unrequited. Chuuya hadn't asked for this. He was angry.
The rage rose in his throat and translated into grabs at Dazai's hips, unforgiving bites at his neck until eventually he couldn't stand to suppress it anymore. He pulled back and shoved the brunette away roughly, glaring at his clumsy stumble. “You know what? No. I'm not doing this shit. Go home.”
(Or: Skk hook up regularly, but Chuuya's developed Hanahaki disease and is having a much harder time hiding his feelings.)

This was not in Dazai’s plans for his evening, or now should he say his year. His stupid Dog went chasing after a Rabbit, then he got caught, and so did Chuuya. Now somehow, they were going to school, for heroes.
And out of all the idiotic things Mori had done? having Chuuya mark him might have been the worst. Dazai would rather live forever than give into his instincts that demanded that idiotic alpha.
But here he was, having to face his instincts in all their disgusting, omega glory. He missed his pups, and he wanted his mate to acknowledge he marked him, even if he hadn't marked Chuuya in return

Summary

And Chuuya does come when Dazai calls and he is perfect, but he's not his, isn't it the most twisted turn of faith? Yosano draws blood from him after the whole incident, doing a final check-up before they all are going to lie low, and confirms to Dazai that he is an alpha, through and through, but the only omega he could ever imagine as his mate is already claimed.

“You don’t get it,” Dazai said, interrupting him mid-apology. “That’s never happened to me. That doesn’t happen to me. There has to be some other explanation because I’m not like that.” Kunikida pauses and looks at him with something like pity.
“Not like what?” And Dazai loathes the way that Kunikida says those words, all soft around the edges like he’s talking to some traumatized civilian who got caught up in something they weren’t supposed to.
“You know what I mean,” Dazai insists, pushing himself up to stand at his full height. “I’m not like that.”
Not human. Not built so softly that he was traumatized by his upbringing. Not made of glass or porcelain. Not a thing to be handled delicately. Not someone who was undeserving of what came upon him.

“That’s the best you could negotiate it down to?” Ranpo asked once Fukuzawa was done explaining the contract, a slight edge to his voice and Dazai already knew exactly what he was thinking of: the contract was pretty much foolproof on Mori’s end. When someone went in, they might as well be stuck.
“Mori’s initial plan involved multiple rounds of physical and psychological torture to manufacture loyalty to the Mafia,” Dazai added in, feeling a bit of pity for Fukuzawa.
“And how do you know that if this is the first we’re all hearing about this?” Yosano asks and Dazai’s smile turns bitter.
“Mori, I’ll give you the pleasure of answering that.”
“Thank you,” He says smoothly before standing up. “I’ve decided the best course of action is to take Dazai Osamu back to his home in the Port Mafia.”

“Dazai, what the fuck is this?”
Brown eyes, still cloudy, peered up at him as if the words hadn’t even been comprehended in Dazai’s mind. His head cocked to the side in a silent question and Chuuya moved to push Dazai’s leg up a bit further, bringing it into the light so they could both see properly.
The near entirety of the skin was marred, of course, self-inflicted scars crisscrossing each other, old enough to have turned a faded white, but that wasn’t what he was focused on.
The issue lay in a series of fresh ones. They were scarily recent, probably only a few days old at best, and scabbed over. None looked bad enough to have needed stitches but they were pretty damn close.
Those hadn’t been there the last time they’d done this. In fact, nothing of the sort had been there any of the times they’d fucked since before Dazai left the Port Mafia.

In which Chuuya and Dazai have been having casual sex for years and all of that is fine until Dazai relapses for the first time since leaving the Port Mafia.
