Another creak sounds close to him.
There’s nothing there. Peter thinks to himself tiredly.
“Not feeling so good, huh, kid?” A new voice asks suddenly and Peter feels a cold chill run down his spine at the sound of it, despite how he feels like he’s boiling up from the inside.
Peter’s eyes snap open, only to be met with the sight of Quentin Beck standing a few feet away from him, casually leaning against his tall dresser. The only thing Peter can do is stare at him in both fear and disbelief. He couldn’t be real. Beck is dead. There’s absolutely no way that he’s alive.
“What? Not gonna say hello to your old pal, Pete?” Beck asks, holding a hand to his chest in mock hurt.
Or
Peter is bed bound with a fever and hallucinates Beck is back from the dead and wanting revenge.

“Shit,” Peter breathes, and he falls into another swing, ramming into two of the robots with his shoulder.
“Shit?” Tony asks, loudly. “What shit? You need somebody? You need me?”
Peter rolls in the air, scrambling to grab onto the robot and tear its stupid legs off.
The ground rumbles again, and it sounds like an earthquake, and he knows they’re burrowing, the bigger ones, and thank God they got this whole fight started out here and not in Brooklyn like the bad guys were planning.

As they stand on the side of the highway, Peter thinks that he really does need to call Mr. Stark and describe the destruction of his expensive car, there's no way around that. But it's not as easy as the man said, because Mr. Stark isn't his dad, as much as Peter would like that. Therefore Mr. Stark can be as mad at Peter as he wants to.
OR
Peter crashes Tony's car, but when Tony shows up, Peter realizes some things that he hadn't understood before.

When Peter realises that he sees Tony as a parental figure, his first reaction is guilt. Followed by the uncertainty of how- or if- to tell Tony this.
Because how did you tell someone that you saw them as a dad? How did you tell them that they were one of the most important people in your life? And how did you tell them that you were afraid, if that truth was out there in the universe, spoken, they would be taken away from you too?
And then Peter begins to fear that the universe has heard him regardless.
Tony, meanwhile, is just trying to keep his kid safe.

Or, Tony is convinced he can handle his nightmares about Afghanistan, until someone else ends up in the chair with a hole carved into their chest.
