Izuku realizes how cracked people's views are, given the example of All Might. So no, never again, he doesn't need the validation of people against him. He'll just become a hero out of spite and show them.

He's wearing a gas mask, but Chris can tell by the way his eyes crinkle around the edges, the way sun-burnt sand swirls in his irises, that he's smiling.
Chris cocks his gun.
"You killed my father," he says.
"No offence, but he totally deserved it," the stranger agrees with cheerful solemnity.
"What the hell are you doing in my home?" Chris demands. The kid is perched on a windowsill in Chris' office, as nonchalantly as if this were something he did every day, as if they were familiar.
"I was just wondering," the kid speaks softly, fond amusement sewn through with a peculiar resignation, "how you'd feel about putting down some nazis?"

Izuku has always had a problem with overthinking things. It was why he always has at least a dozen backup plans for his backup plan, just in case. It is also the reason that he now has two bookshelves full of analysis notebooks (thankfully encoded after an intense class courtesy of Nedzu). He's been working on curbing his habit, but sometimes it flares back to life at inconvenient times.
So when Eraserhead and Present Mic start showing up every time he turns around, his brain starts trying to assign meaning to every little thing they do. But if they keep declaring they want to spend time with him, keep bringing him treats and listening to him ramble, he might start believing that they are flirting with him after all.

A familiar sense of Deja vu flows through my body like molten silver as my chest and sides ache from old and new wounds. Bandages wrapped tight to the point that it’s becoming harder to breath, but I push past it.
Sounds blare around me as my hands prepare my crossbow, happy that the doctors and nurses know, or knew me well enough to let me keep it on my person.
I keep my focus sharp as the emergency lights flash and spin, until I hear what I’ve been waiting to hear, a sharp whistle in four short bursts.
