Ichigo still knows how his mother's blood tasted, as she fell over him and it gushed from her throat over his face and drenched his clothes. Knows the smell of fresh death from her, first and foremost.

Dabi asks, sounding rather genuine and not even snarking back at all the insults, and Tomura tries very, very hard not to think about that too much, because they are in the middle of the living room, and the last thing he needs is for Kurogiri to witness him bust a nut over Dabi's stupid, sexy whining.

His scowl smooths, the corners of his mouth curling upwards slightly at the sight of Grimmjow in his bed, only his head and shoulders visible above the blankets- it should probably be disconcerting that he's using Ichigo's body as a teddy bear, pressed so close that Ichigo is already anticipating a sore ribcage when he crawls back into it; but it's also sweet.
Being held like that, is... It's good, intimate in a way that has slowly sanded off some of his sharp, bitter edges towards the idea of love. Edging towards being worth the risk of loss.

The fervor in Ichigo’s voice sets something alight, blue eyes blow wide, pupils dilating into big black pools, his own nails flexing into claws, black fur sprouting up to his elbows.
Grimmjow sharpens like magic.

He holds his breath despite himself at the reflective flash of eyes he catches, and then an over-large dog slinks out not far behind his car. It stops, in the dim light and misty rain, ears turned forwards and holds itself with an unnatural stillness, long, thin muzzle and even longer legs.
