Summary
Since the death of his aunt and uncle a year ago, Peter Parker has bounced around foster homes faster than a pinball at full speed. Why? He blames Spiderman. His constant secret keeping, lying, and sneaking out because of his alter ego has kept him from staying in a home for too long, but he refuses to give up the vigilanteism (that's a word, right?) At this point, he's given up hope on ever finding a forever home.
Tony Stark never expected to get so attached to his young new intern, Peter Parker. But when he finds out that the kid is moving foster homes too far away for him to keep up the internship, he takes matters into his own hands. He soon finds out, though, that housing Peter Parker is a lot harder than mentoring him.

Tony stopped short as the intern shot a thin, white gooey substance out at the wall.
It stuck.
The kid tugged on it experimentally.
It continued to stick.
“Hmph,” the kid said.
And then he dropped the white sticky thread, which Tony's sleep-deprived mind was completely one hundred percent certain was a web just like Spider-Man’s, and went back to work.
Who knew such things could be hiding in Tony’s own internship labs?
OR: Tony Stark has been looking for Spider-Man for a long time. He has very, very little success in this search, despite Peter Parker working in his labs. Just some fun identity shenanigans >:)

The thing is Peter simply cannot focus lately. His thoughts drift back constantly, without his permission to the moment Quentin Beck had said those words to him. The disturbing as hell last words of a madman.
The confusing as hell words of a liar.
Peter, for the life of him, can’t figure out why the heck Beck would ever say something like that, much less say it to Peter. It had felt like the perverted ravings of a lunatic, not the calculating master-mind that Peter knew Beck to be.
Or,
Peter is struggling in the aftermath of his trip to Europe, and with the implications of what some of Quentin Beck’s final words to him on the bridge in London could have meant. With worsening nightmares, confusing flashbacks, and a fun new aversion to anyone entering his personal space, Peter can’t seem to shake the feeling that there’s something he doesn’t quite remember about his time in Europe.

“I cannot believe you talked me into this,” Tony said, running a hand through his sopping wet hair. It was way too early to be up, much less be in a bookstore of all places. But last night, when Pepper had hesitantly asked if he wanted to join her on her Saturday morning ritual, Tony almost jumped at the chance.
“I did ask you if you were sure,” Pepper said pointedly, shaking out her umbrella. Water clung to her coat. She was dressed for the weather, unlike him, wearing knee-high boots Tony was certain he’d have remembered seeing before. “Not my fault, you didn’t realize that you have to wake at 7 AM on a Saturday.” She dropped the umbrella into the bucket by the store entrance.
“You know I can’t say no to you, honey,” Tony said, kissing Pepper’s knuckles with exaggerated gallantry. “You looked way too cute talking about this place. I just did not expect to need a life raft to get through this rain.”
Pepper softened despite herself and smiled shyly at him. “Thank you for coming with me.”

“Diamonds which I could then use to line the repulsor systems.” Peter bites into his apple. “And then I’d always be with him.” Peter adds, “in Spirit.”
"I see what you did there,” Ned says, “and I respect the pun. And the concept. Super freaking cute man. And lame. But mostly cute."
OR Peter's broken his phone again, but luckily FRIDAY can just broadcast his chats with Ned throughout the penthouse. Too bad his spidey-sense doesn't warn him about Mister Stark's unexpected visitors. And if he ends up in Wakanda after that- well he may have found a little loophole in Tony's orders to stay home.

He just wanted stronger webs! That’s it! And now Tony knows that Peter actually prefers Steve’s cooking over his own, and is vehemently offended by the fact.
“You said you liked the casserole!” Tony exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. Peter groans, putting his head in his hands and trying to bite his tongue, but the words fall out anyways:
“I lied, okay? Steve is good at improvising with your random, bougie ingredients, you’re not!”
