"Abigail?" Leah approaches slowly, her drunkenness fading into a long lost concern in face of her new one. "Are you alright?"
Abigail looks up, her eyes red-rimmed and swollen. Tears streak pale cheeks, reflecting the moonlight like silver trails. Her dark makeup is smeared with grief and her black clothes blend into the night - she almost looks right at home, amongst the frigid atmosphere of those who no longer walk with the living.
"Oh, Leah," Abigail chokes out, her voice thick with sorrow. She's looking Leah's way, but not quite seeing her; too far gone to actually register who she's talking to. "I can't do it anymore, I can't take it anymore."
Leah, weary from a night at the saloon, stumbles upon a sobbing Abigail in the graveyard. And, despite her best interests, she welcomes Abigail home with her and is unexpectedly dragged into the messy life of her young charge.

"In more ways than one," came Wyll's innuendo, later, choked out around a laugh, when Karlach had mentioned this interaction. Shadowheart slaps him on the shoulder for it, but Karlach can see her, too, hiding a smile at the joke. But that comment, those other ways... they stick in her mind, on a loop, over and over again.
Karlach laughed too.
Laughed her way into lying awake later that night, watching from her open tent as Minthara potters around outside her own in the middle of the night.

Summary
A lot of my stories have references to each other and bits that crossover so I decided to compile them into series to make it a bit easier to read through everything for those who wish to. "Rainbow Pollination AU" has the core fics that are the ones that link most prominently to each other and should be read together. The "Rainbow Pollination AU - Backstories" series has mostly additional one-shots that have extra little things I added to some characters and their stories, but don't necessarily need to be read to understand what's going on in the main series or even with the others. Hope that clears things up a bit for everyone!

Sometimes we have to go undercover, and get involved in some ugly human stuff. When I was still at Beacon, my team and I got involved in some arms trafficking stuff. And more stuff like that.” he explained “The job of Huntsmen and Huntresses is to help and protect people from everything that intends to harm them.”
He drank again.
“And that's why I am here.” He continued. “To help you.”

Summary
After the fall of Beacon Yang and Weiss find themselves forcibly isolated from the rest of team RWBY. Each struggles to adapt to the new lives they think they must lead. Yang is hurt and angry as she tries to cope with her physical and emotional troubles, while Weiss fights her way through the cold and treacherous world that is the Schnee Dust Company in order to attain her birthright. Both walk different paths in separate worlds, but will discover that the their destinies are not written in stone after all. That is, if they manage to notice that the help they so desperately need to move forward... is standing next to them.
If you wanted to see Yang train with her prosthetic and work through her trauma, and experience Weiss kicking some corporate ass at the SDC in Volume 4, then this is the story for you. Full of drama, Yangst, fight scenes and intrigue. Stays as true to the cannon characters and world as possible, but primarily takes place in Atlas.
The smut is primarily in the epilogue and is ABUNDANT, but I recommend reading the story too.
