“What, so you’re all on her side now?” Weiss nearly snarls. “Do you even remember what she did to me?”
“Of course we do,” Yang finally cuts in again, standing to cross the room. She puts both of her hands on Weiss’ shoulders. It’s the closest they’ve been in a while, but just based on the way Weiss trembles invisibly beneath her grip, Yang can tell that she needed it. “We’re just… we’re just trying to do our best.”
“And you’re best is forgiving a murderer,” Weiss spits, jerking away from Yang’s touch and heading for the door. “You can come find me when you actually think about who you’ve taken in.”

Winter was excited about getting some time away from her family. Yes, she loved her family, but the constant stresses of training at combat school, navigating annoying drama with her friends, and having to be a good sister to her three siblings were starting to wear on her. A big vacation to Mistral for them and a relaxing two-week stay at the fanciest hotel in all of Atlas for her was just what they all needed.
At least, it was relaxing until Winter started hearing strange noises coming from the basement of the hotel.
