Raph is in the middle of a sentence, something about different thickness of needles when he pauses, leaning himself forward in his seat, he narrows his eyes at Leo.
“Hey. Are you listening?”
Leo swallows thickly, his throat bobbing. “Yeah. Sorry.” He looks at his own work, nowhere near as good as what Raph had already started. He huffs a laugh. “This is gonna be a disaster.”
Raphael seems to think for a moment before he speaks, setting his needles down on his lap, he shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly before he tells him,
“Well, it’s the thought that counts, right?”
Leo nods his head, picking apart the stitch that was already falling apart.
“Yeah,” he says with a breath. Glancing upwards towards his brother, he forces his mouth into a smile.
“Just wanted it to be… better, y’know.”
Raph smiles. It’s kind and well tempered. Not one he wears very often but the kind that suits him well
“You know what I think?” He doesn’t let Leo answer him. “I think if he likes you as much as you like him, he’s gonna love it.”
Leo feels his insides go cold.
“Huh?”

They fought tooth and nail to get back here, after all. He can still remember the rush he’d felt when the light had swallowed them up, and they’d opened their eyes to find themselves strapped back into that same old amusement park ride. Dressed in their old clothes, in their old bodies. He hadn’t realized how much his time in the Realm had changed him physically. The ‘him’ he’d come back to had been a couple inches shorter, a weedy kid who hadn’t had the time to build up any muscles from lugging twenty-plus pounds of armour and a magical shield across a seemingly-infinite stretch of hostile terrain day after day.

Summary
After the Library Incident, people began to speculate.
Some claimed that Berdly was concealing a case of bullying, much to the concern of his teachers. Others insisted that he had overworked himself preparing for the next Spelling Bee, which was approaching fast. However, it was only when Berdly began to fall asleep in class that rumours really began to fly.
The new Dark World had all the temptations that Berdly’s home life lacked. However, people didn’t know all that. Word around town was that Berdly, the star student, hardworking community volunteer, and son of hometown’s renowned doctor, was hiding a habit.
Note for new readers: This fic was written after Chapter 2. Although the final chapter is being posted after Chapter 3/4's release, it won't reflect any updates to the Deltarune canon past Chapter 2. Enjoy!
