Continues immediately after the events of season 5 episode 7. Basically the finale, but written by someone who actually cares about queer representation. Mike did NOT deserve that absolute assassination and I WILL be doing him right.
In other words, a fix-it fic based on my last byler theory on my YouTube channel (@i.dontknowhowtodance, the period is IMPORTANT), in which we get a Mike-central finale where byler is canon. I do want to clarify I only watched the finale once and I refuse to watch it again so I might get some plot points wrong but you guys don't care anyway because no one likes the finale.

1: oh my god… this is truly an evil fic im in love. Will’s trauma, Mike’s mixed personality, the codependency, the angst, omg. I’m so scared for Will why tf did Mike do what he did
2: holy spice I’m honestly loving the dynamic and can imagine these scenes very clearly of them talking… also Mike how tf r u “not gay”
3: god this is so good. I love how well it attacks the death of El impacting their relationship, which I feel like is ignored a lot, it shouldn’t be because El was important to both of them. I also love the premise of this fic including a lot of sex, but it’s not the main focal point of the story, it’s just a part of it. It’s a part of the messy relationship of Mike and Will. That last part was so sad omg. I hope Mike can fucking get over himself
4: genuinely such a sweet ending. Loved that we got to see Will deal with his own self a bit and realize his relationship with Mike, but ultimately deciding it IS a relationship that can become real :3 def recommend

“Kiss me, it’s my birthday, huh? Happy birthday.” A guy approached Will from behind, his hands settling on his hips. He muttered a “thank you” before the guy pulled him into yet another kiss.
Mike couldn’t take it anymore; he pulled Will away—his hand tight on his wrist.
“What’s your problem, bro?”
“I don’t have one, bro”, he mocked, eyes narrowed at the man. He pulled Will away from the dance floor, ignoring the latter’s protests.
“What the fuck are you doing!” Will stopped letting himself get pulled away, making Mike stop in his tracks too. Mike turns around, and Will meets his fuming eyes.
“No, what the fuck are YOU doing?”
“I’m having fun!” He says as he tries to pull himself out of Mike’s grip. He fails as Mike’s hand tightens around him even more.
“Fun? Wow, fun is making out with literally everyone?” Mike said, scoffing. Will laughed back at him, cold and humourless. He nodded, “Yeah, maybe it is.”

Mike flinched.
Blood rushed to his face. He could feel it, the heat burning in him, so he took another swig at his beer, as if that would help. Gulp. He didn’t know where to look. Heck, didn’t know what to do. Will’s eyes were closed now, his head backed up against the wall, neck craned in such an angle that gave full exposure for this…animal to take, to keep taking, to keep kissing him, to leave his mark.
Mike stepped further into the crowd. He was blind to the bodies around him, mindlessly walking forward, a feeling of frustration foreign to him beginning to take shape.
And then Will’s eyes were on Mike.
