There was no doubt in Cole’s mind that he was loved — how could he not be, when Kai let him do his hair on the days where his hands ached too much or when Lloyd fell asleep on his lap on the couch while they were watching Starferer? He knew that he loved others dearly, he could feel it. But none of that love fit into the neat, small box that his forebears had prepared for him.
The shame that he’d carried was not about being queer. Not for a long time. It was about not being able to fit himself into that box — from not being able to find the key, even, from not really knowing how to go about opening it.
His eyes met Bonzle’s, cutting through the tension in the air. “I’m aromantic and asexual. Which means that I don’t like anyone either sexually or romantically. It took me a while to figure it out, but it’s true."

When Jason woke up, it wasn’t with a startled flinch and gasp of air like he’d come to expect. He didn’t sit up, drenched in sweat and cough as his breath returned to him. Summary
It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.
