“Yes!”
Wilbur listens again. “I don’t hear anything.”
“It’s a cricket, I saw it with my own two eyes. It wasn’t a grasshopper, it wasn’t green, it was all brown and ugly and evil.”
“The cricket isn’t out to get you, Tommy.”
“That’s what it fucking wants you to think.”

His hands are clenched tightly into fists, trying to ground and calm himself as footsteps approach the door, the knob turning and the door swing opens, and Tommy is staring at blood red eyes.
"Theseus." The nickname that Techno used to so fondly call Tommy is now filled with heavy bitterness, and those ruby eyes harden just a little.
Immediately, Tommy looks away and flinches a little, staring at the ground as his fingers fiddle with the hem of his shirt.
This was such a bad idea, Tommy is an absolute fucking idiot for thinking he would even make it out here alive.

At the end of the velvet carpet, there was an alter. In front of said alter, Quackity stood in all his glory next to a wooden structure that bared a rather… unflattering picture of Wilbur. Behind Quackity and the…statue, a- what seemed to be a priest stood behind the alter with a bible? Wilbur squinted to get a closer look; yep, a bible in hand. Wilbur couldn’t help but gape at the situation – it looked to be a wedding. A wedding for himself and Quackity. Wilbur paused.

“Long,” Techno responds. He rolls his neck, partially to emphasize how uncomfortable it was. “I was rowin’ that boat for so long, Philza.”
“That honestly sounds fucking miserable.” Phil laughs as he speaks. Techno nods.
“Yeah, no, it sucked. I’ve never been so excited to see a random island I know nothin’ about. I never wanna step foot in a boat again.”
“Well, hopefully when we leave again you can take the train. Or, however we get off this damn island.”

Summary
Wilbur would say he was quite happy with his life as a god. Sure, it was a bit lonely at times, but he found his life to be satisfactory.
Wilbur loved humans and all the wondrous music they created in his name. It was like a magical spark that lit up inside him each time he’d hear them celebrating his name.
The churches were full of music and instruments and happy people singing.
It truly was his favorite place to be.
But, sometimes, he loved going out into the streets and hearing the children laugh and play. Such carefree beings singing and dancing without a care in the world.
Then, there were the songs of desperation. Songs that cried out for him in hopes he’d bless them.
Which led him here.
In front of him sat a little girl. She had a dirty and ripped dress along with messy brown curls. Dirt smeared into them and dried into a thick crust.
Or, Wilbur, god of music, finds a little girl and her wooden flute. He gets attached.

It was a known fact. This isn't some way of self-deprecating himself, either, he genuinely just... Annoys everybody. It was a rare and very unfortunate power to have developed, filled in a world of people with hybrid-based powers, water control, fire control, super senses, or invisibility and speed,
Or... Nullifying powers.
Tommy was aware nullifying powers existed of course, and they weren't exactly that rare... At least, not as rare as the other powers that about, half of the population tend to develop- He simply didn't expect to notice coming in contact with somebody that has nullifying powers, because as far as he was concerned, he had nothing to nullify.
Then he did.

Phil swims around from behind him to stand beside Wilbur.
“We can help, Toms,” he coos, “You know we want to help you. You’re sick, we can help.”
The empty feeling in his chest burrows right down to his stomach and makes itself at home. Phil leans down and cups Tommy’s face.
“But we really can’t have it happening again.”

Tommy was miles from home, bloody and panting, stumbling through the dirty streets as he did his best to cover his tracks. There was no doubt in his mind that Dream would be after him, and this time, he wouldn’t take so long to kill him.
Tommy couldn’t do this anymore. He wished the heroes had killed him the moment they first caught him. Even now, having escaped, he wanted to die. He just didn’t want to be alone as he did it.
But he had nothing and no one. He was alone.
His exhausted mind drifted to the only people he deemed important enough to want to be close to.
He wanted to die. Siren, the Blade, and the Angel of Death wanted to kill him. It was a match made in heaven.
And anyway, what was one more chase?

Summary
Tommy knew the rules of the Fae. Even without anyone to teach him, those lessons trickled down to the muddy streets he called his home.
He’d lived in this village for as long as he could remember, sleeping under porches and stealing to survive. His whole life he’d been running, from shopkeepers and soldiers and everyone else who saw a twelve year old boy and thought first of a target.
“Hey!”
Tommy bolted. A rotting apple was clutched close to his chest as he ran, legs pumping as he fled to the only place he knew he wouldn’t be followed.
The forest had a reputation for housing Fair Folk and other such beasts. Parents warned their children against entering the forest, but Tommy had none to do so. He wasn’t stupid— he knew the risks he faced in the forest— but he’d rather brave the potential threats there than the very real danger at his heels.

Tehcno sighs, exposing Tommy to the new mer against his wishes. He freezes in place, unable to move as Phil lets out a soft croon, coming closer to him.
“Oh— oh little one,” Phil croons out, his voice soft as Techno removes the hand from his back. Phil grabs him lightly, his touch gentle as he slowly pries him off of Techno’s tail.
