Summary
Highschool, Eridan gets mocked for being desperate before he can ask Sollux to the prom and he loses his confidence to do so. He tries to be hopeful that someone will ask him out, but nobody does so he ends up going alone. At the prom he ends up breaking down and going to his empty home crying where the others find him and discover more about him home life then they'd care to know.

Summary
Now here's the thing about Jeremy Heere.
He had a nice group of friends who were major theatre nerds, especially his best friend Christine. He himself also partook in the guilty pleasures of spending countless hours looking at (not so legal) recordings of productions he was into or lounging on his bed belting out the lyrics to Wicked or Newsies as he looked up at his dull grey ceiling. The group bonded over this shared passion and were pretty tight-knit. So one could say that he wasn't doing so bad when it came to his social life. However, he had one problem. And that problem wasn't just that he was a chronic masturbator. No, his issue was that although he relieved himself on a daily, it was mundane and well, meaningless. He didn't want himself to get off for the sake of it or because it had just become a habit ingrained in his daily routine. He craved for the attention of someone else. It all started with the first party of their freshman year of college.
Evan had been quite opposed to the idea. Evan did not like parties. Jared, on the other hand, didn’t see the point. Nah, not when he could be chugging a bottle of whiskey alone in his dorm room and sobbing.
Anyway, the party. The party that Evan had said he really didn’t wanna go to. Jared was fine with that. Another weekend of crying himself to sleep with the heavy buzz of alcohol was fine by him. But then Evan found out that Connor was going, and then Evan was going, and Jared was getting dragged along.
Which was all fine and dandy. Until Evan ran into Connor, and with liquid courage, finally got the nerve to jump his bones, and then Evan didn’t need Jared as a wingman anymore
Which meant that Jared was alone.
