Not even a terribly bad one — but still, bad enough for Hugh to knock on her door and relay, very carefully and slowly, “It’s the Inspector Miss. He’s already recovering, but he’s in the hospital. His car was run into and he was flung out of it. He instructed me to be very clear in relaying to you that all he suffered was a minor wound to his abdomen and some scrapes and bruises.”
