Unfortunately, that means he must reunite with his father, a very recently and involuntarily ex-Imperial who still has a very Imperial way of thinking. Zeb accompanies him, but for his own protection, as Alexsandr's bodyguard, and not his husband.

The holo-photo glares at him in accusation, as if any of this were his fault. Which it’s not! The photo is clearly a cunning Rebel plot, created to undermine his authority! Inner Voice objects to the plausibility of that theory, so Kallus escorts it to the darkest corner of his mind and shoots it in the head; because there is no other alternative. This cannot be real, nor could it possibly be happening to him…
“Why me?” He raises his eyes and pleads with a god — any god, really — for deliverance. Or perhaps death. Death might be better. “What did I do to deserve this?”
The wanted poster with his own imperious face glowering back at him doesn’t deign to reply. That’s alright. He has the feeling he knows the answer.

The one where Kallus temporarily joins the Ghost Crew after he is declared a traitor to the Empire. Which is utterly ridiculous, by the way. He would never betray the Empire! Ever! Not even for a green-eyed, purple furred, suspiciously kind, oddly gentle, definitely-not-attractive-in-any-way-shape-or-form Lasat!
He’s having difficulty proving this to the Empire, however. Especially with a meddling group of misfits sabotaging his every attempt to do so.

Summary
Dean Winchester was the pride and joy of the Isle of Lawrence, firstborn son of Chief John the Relentless. At nineteen years old, he’d killed more dragons than half of the adults on his island. Everyone knew he’d be the next chief of Lawrence and that he’d run it with the same cut-throat, kill-all-dragons-on-sight mentality as his father.
Castiel was the youngest child of the Long Lost King of dragons. Who had recently left the safety of the dragons nest wanting to go out and see the world.
When the two meet one day in the woods sparks fly, but will the sparks light a fire to keep them warm during hard times or will they burn both their lives to the ground leaving a smoldering wreck.

Slightly inspired by "When You Pry it From My Cold, Dead Chest" by Anath_Tsurugi. I love the idea that different species have different ways of telling who their soulmate is. I have changed a few things though. For example, Lasats are colorblind - but are usually only missing one color - until they touch their soul mates for the first time. And humans have the first thing their soulmates will say to them but in their soulmates native language.

Cas had been on his feet all day. He collapsed into a chair. “I’m not gifted with charm, Dean. If anything, my lack of social skills are chasing customers away.”
Dean was guzzling water, leaning against the counter. He wiped his mouth and gave Cas a once-over. “You kidding? Ladies love the broody and mysterious schtick. I’d be here every day if I got to see you.”
There’d been no hesitation in Dean’s words. Cas bit down on a pleased smile. “Don’t tell me you’ve only been coming in to your own business to see me."
“Well, no, but waking up at 3AM is easier when I have a hot assistant.”
When Cas looked at him, surprised, Dean was looking away with a nervous swallow.

“No, but the club’s for non-humans,” Kallus supplied reluctantly as he finished skimming through the report on the chancellor. “Powerful non-humans. And judging from the photos from his club… The few humans in there seem to be, well, they’re accessories.” Kallus glanced up at the faces of his superiors who looked back at him with quiet unease. He had a bad feeling about where this conversation was going.

He does just fine on his own, has for a long time—since he was old enough to hold a shotgun and make a salt circle. He’s proud of what he’s been able to achieve without angelic help, and the longer he can keep hunting solo, the better.
But judging by the summons he’s just received to the Men of Letters’ bunker, his time is up.
He can’t avoid his future angel partner any longer.
(aka. five times that Dean saves Castiel's life, and five times that Castiel slowly learns angels aren't as bad as he'd thought)

Castiel didn't look up from his suitcase. “Top,” he said.
Dean nodded and tossed his sleep equipment onto the bottom bunk.
Castiel looked up, eyebrows creased. “Oh, you meant bunks? Bottom, please.”
Dean paused. He frowned loudly and threw a questioning look at his bunkmate.
Castiel had turned his back to him and was rooting through his bag. He pulled out a striped fitted sheet and moved to put it on the bottom bunk.
“What,” Dean said suspiciously, making the question sound more like a statement.
“Bottom, Dean. That is, if you don't mind,” he answered, unfolding the sheet.
Dean nodded warily, eyes narrowed.
“O... kay. I'll take the top.”
Dean couldn't be sure, but he thought he heard the other man snort quietly.

It should have been a simple thing, to persuade a mer to give him a few scales for a spell. All part of the usual Winchester byline: saving people, hunting things.
But Castiel is far less of a ‘thing’ than Dean expected. He might not be human, but he’s definitely a person.
And that means he needs saving, too.

And then along comes Emerson Bradford: a gorgeous American investor with a heart-melting smile, ocean-blue eyes, and a passion for rare book preservation. He’s heard of Aziraphale. He wants to give Aziraphale everything he needs to take care of his books. He wants to give Aziraphale a lot more, besides. And it seems like Aziraphale wants what Emerson has to give.
