She was still too nervous to step out of line, and since they had a few misunderstandings on their first shift she didn’t want to say the wrong thing or push the woman too far, but there was something about her that made her want to be good. Be a better doctor, a better listener— be around her, really.
She had a lot to learn, and Dr Mckay was quick to show her. That was all.
