Shouta Aizawa is too goddamn tired to deal with this shit.
One second, he’s on patrol, thinking about his loud, blond husband and warm, inviting bed. The next, he’s dragging a half-feral fourteen-year-old away from a burning convenience store while the kid shouts curses he should be too young to know.
A kid who’s way too thin for his age, and flinches when he’s touched. A kid who won’t take off his stupid fucking mask, even when Shouta asks nicely. A kid who Shouta can’t help but like—just a little bit.
Fuck.
And as for Shouta’s new batch of students, they’re just as chaotic as the street urchin he has started to affectionately call Rabbit—especially the hot-headed Katsuki Bakugo, whose personality is even more explosive than his powerful quirk, and Mikumo Akatani, who Shouta’s husband has taken a liking to (for reasons unbeknownst to him). Keeping the two boys out of trouble is a full-time job in and of itself.
As Shouta pulls at the threads surrounding Rabbit and Mikumo Akatani, he realizes they all center around one thing—something involving a cold case, a group of villains, and a missing kid.

The icy cold air stung his eyes as the salty tears bubbled and poured down his rosy cheeks, mixing with the splatters of dark crimson, turning them an ugly pink. The strong smell of copper invaded his nose, as well as the smell of burning flesh and suffocating smoke that always seemed to linger.
Static drowned out everything around him, blurring his senses to where all he could do was stare at the lifeless body before him. His fingers tingled with the feeling of drying blood coating his hands, slowly peeling like the roses in the garden.

but I kind of want it to turn out that he’s playing Hannibal just as hard as Hannibal’s playing him. I’d like to see that as a fic, that turnaround where it’s Will doing the string pulling and Hannibal only realizes it at that very last second… and can’t help but respect how clever it is.

Summary
Izuku has been in foster care for years already, and it's more than long enough that he has learnt how not to trust people, how to protect himself and be watchful, wary, exactly what his new family wants, until they get fed up with him anyway.He doesn't know how to trust Eraserhead and his husband, or even if he wants to trust them.
But, equally, he doesn't know just how much they genuinely want him to be happy and safe; it's a realisation that will come with time and with showing Izuku, every single day in so many tiny ways, that Shouta and Naomasa are here for him, no matter what.

Izuku is oh-so sure that this is a mistake, absolutely adamant, in fact, that something has gone wrong, because he doesn't deserve this.
How could he? He's a Deku, a useless, freakish burden, and he will ruin anything and everything that he touches. He knows it.
But Eraserhead and his husband apparently want him.

Naomasa knows that Shouta is excited. There's no doubt about it. It might not be obvious to most people, but it is to him.
The kid's had an absolutely shit lot in life, Naomasa and Shouta are simply hoping that they might be able to change that.
