Summary
The feeling of floating in an empty void whilst an alien robot screamed in rage was a feeling Leo was all too familiar with. The cracks that had begun crisscrossing atop his shell had begun to fade to a dull throbbing as new injuries were brutally stacked on top of old ones after what felt like weeks trapped in the prison dimension. Wait. Had it really been weeks? Had he only been there for a few minutes? How many hours, days, weeks, or even months had he been trapped in this God awful place?
Or a post movie(ish) fic of Leo having plenty of issues after the events of the movie.

It's been a mere three weeks since the Krang were sent back to the prison dimension, slicing the Technodrome in half and obliterating a good portion of NYC. Now, even the skyline looks different, riddled with construction cranes and the glistening, half-built bodies of new skyscrapers blossoming from the wreckage.
Beneath the city's streets, those who saved the world from the bloodthirsty Krang hide in the sewer tunnels, nursing their wounds. The escape they made was a hasty one - some of them barely got out with their lives. Things are quieter in the lair then they used to be - maybe it's that April's mom won't let her slip away to visit unnoticed, or that the door to Donnie's lab is always shut, or that Leo still fades in and out of consciousness, drugged up on painkillers. There's only one new addition to their ragtag family - Casey Jones Jr. Future Boy. And he's searching for answers to the pain he feels in a version of his family who has only just now met him.
TL;DR The fam scrapes themselves back together after a very certifiably traumatic experience.

There’s a sudden interruption of light. It’s like a tiny, localized dawn in this corner of Brooklyn alone. A glowing circle hangs over the pier, spilling warm yellow across the water and the boardwalk.
Mikey’s senses go to war with themselves. Obviously, historically, random portals are no good. His head knows that. But his heart is soothed by it, the way he feels when Raph is late coming home from patrol and he finally walks through the door.
It’s golden and gentle and it feels like family.
His brothers are tense, but they haven’t sprung into action yet. No one’s speaking. They must feel it, too.
Rise!Mikey’s portal in the prison dimension takes Leo a little bit farther than he meant for it to. 12!Mikey finds a familiar-looking stranger.

An alarm blares. All of them jump. April drops the scissors into the sink and squeezes the gogurt so hard that it gushes out across her fist. Leo tenses, winces, and slowly relaxes, whining and rubbing his chest, "Mama Mia, what is that for?" Donnie's heart launches into his throat. His phone buzzes in his pocket at the same moment and continues frantically, and his right arm goes inexplicably pins-and-needles. He whips around to look at the other computer monitor.
A small turtle silhouette ringed in orange appears on the screen along with half a dozen flashing boxes. Vitals are in the red.
Donnie shouts, "Mikey!" and launches out of the chair.
