Rumi was trying to accept her demon side- really, she was! It wasn't as easy as flipping a switch like she hoped. She felt like while she could finally loosen the reins on herself, she couldn't completely drop them. She didn't want to feel more demon than human.
Of course, all that restraint goes out the window when backed into a corner, and Mira and Zoey's lives are on the line.
