Summary
Now, Goran'Agar sat up. "What do you really want from me, Odo? If there were any breakthroughs in Dr. Bashir's research I would have seen him immediately. With how things stand, though, I do not currently feel safe in his presence."
Odo had half a mind to laugh. A Jem'Hadar soldier, feeling unsafe because of a human, even one as unfathomable as Bashir? He couldn't exactly pinpoint what kind of game either of the two were currently playing, which in turn frustrated him greatly.

Summary
It was either some Bajoran holiday, or a thank-you for one of the times they’d saved the station recently, or just some kind of annual thing the shop owners cooked up amongst themselves: the Promenade Merchants Association was holding a banquet, and the senior staff was invited. Bashir immediately tried to back out as soon as Sisko announced it.
“Aren’t you involved with Mr. Garak?” Sisko said, exasperated, “he’s a member of the Merchants Association. Wouldn’t you be expected to attend anyway?”
“Actually, we’re not—...” Bashir started, but trailed off under the combined gazes of everyone else in the wardroom. He frowned. “It’s not like that.”
“Uh-huh.”

"Your PADD keeps buzzing and I can't unlock it to turn it off..."
"I thought my security measures were no match for you?"
Elim buried his face against Bashir's naked shoulder and growled quietly - Bashir laughed hoarsely, then leaned over him to take his PADD from the nightstand.
You're needed home immediately.

So, when a Tellarite ship had bumped into the wrong side of a docking pylon and triggered a cascade power failure in the station’s computer systems, Benjamin was left unable to communicate with half his staff.
And the computer. The computer “spoke” Cardassian. Exclusively.

Summary
He got off a cheesy one-liner and was kissing the holographic love interest the program had generated for him when obnoxious clapping started up at the door to the room through which Falcon normally entered. And that, in fact, was different.
“Who’s that?” Caprice said.
“An uninvited guest,” Bashir replied, annoyed.
Elim looked awfully pleased with himself, smiling brightly and continuing to applaud as Bashir stalked over to him.

Summary
"Is it internal?" Bashir asked and turned Elim around, kneeling down to inspect the back of his thighs.
"Is what internal?"
"The wound? Or did you take something to hurt yourself and activate the implant?"
To this, Elim only responded with laughter. "I didn't do anything to myself, Doctor. Ah, you may use your medical tricorder to confirm this, of course."
And so, Bashir did. There was nothing indicating any physical or even chemical injury on Elim's body. Still - endorphins and adrenaline were running rampant in his system.

Summary
There was a little bit of resentment there too. He couldn't pinpoint why though - had
Bashirthe Federation managed to tame him? Of course Elim didn't let go of his less savory pastime activities. Staying informed on the state of the conflict with the Dominion or the Klingons, the current affairs on Prime and whatever gossip was running rampant aboard the station this week still was something he placed great importance on.But things were calm. Especially with Bashir constantly occupied with his "research".
(Although Elim had to admit that if the good doctor did manage to take a break, the time the two of them spent together was very much satisfactory. Even if Bashir refused to let their intimate relationship progress further than what they had already established.)

Summary
"Is he still in his office?" Nurse Jabara asked skeptically after she had sent home the latest patient after a routine check-up.
Nurse Kabo nodded from where she was leaning over a console. "He hasn't left it since he showed up this morning. Did Kahrimanis tell you he arrived before the night shift even ended? I'm telling you, this is just another fixation of his."
"Well," Jabara said, eyebrows raised. "I certainly can appreciate working for someone who works hard and with passion."
"I wouldn't call it passion. It's more of an obsession, really. Remember when he dropped everything to fix up the tailor? I had to work overtime for two days!"

Summary
Phaser in hand, Bashir emerged from the runabout first, O’Brien following closely behind. Damp green jungle stretched unforgivingly before them.
“Lovely place,” Bashir said dryly. “...smells like a garbage dump.”
“I'm sorry I didn't find a nicer place to crash-land,” O’Brien snarked back, “should we try again?”
Bashir opened his mouth to explain that by ‘garbage dump’ he meant ‘refuse specifically caused by humanoid living habits’, but his point was made for him when a small troupe of Jem’Hadar decloaked and stepped out of the treeline, disruptors aimed at them.

Summary
Meeting Lt. Cmdr. Worf had certainly been an… experience. In the space of about five minutes, he’d gone from not knowing what darts was, to burying a dart two inches into the dartboard, to getting hit on by Dax (at least, that was what Bashir gathered from context, as his Klingon was extremely limited - he wondered what Leeta would think of this), to efficiently knocking out one of the Klingons that had attacked Elim.
“He’s good,” Dax commented admiringly.
“What did I tell you?” O’Brien said.
Bashir was frankly relieved it had been Cardassians he’d gotten involved with and not Klingons.

Summary
Bashir leaned forward to inspect his uninvited guest. “Elim?”
Elim stirred and awoke with a sleepy little chirrup.
“What are you doing here?”
"...sleeping."
"Well, I can see that—" Bashir softened his tone when he noticed how... sickly Ellim looked, and sat on the side of the bed. "You're still in shed. Let me see your tongue."
Elim stuck out his tongue in tired obedience.
"Ah. Dehydrated too. Elim, I told you that if you struggle with your shed you could come to me."
"I did."

Summary
When strange and interesting things occurred aboard DS9, Quark’s was usually a good place to sit and watch as said things occurred. As far as Elim was concerned, Dax’s zhian’tara qualified, so he suggested to Bashir that they do lunch there instead of the replimat. Bashir agreed, but would not admit to thinking the same thing that Elim was.
The assumption, of course, ended up paying off. It had been, at least according to Bashir, Odo’s turn to embody one of Dax’s past hosts - the most recent one, Curzon. Curzon in Odo’s body had evidently not been content to spend time with Dax like all the other zhian’tara participants did, because here he was, striding into Quark’s with Captain Sisko in tow.

“Most doctors Julian’s age like to settle down on outposts and space stations, not serve on starships,” Dax teased lightly, and then fiddled around with Bashir’s PADD. She wasn’t seriously checking the Lexington’s roster, was she? “Ah, nevermind. Looks like their CMO graduated from Starfleet Medical Academy the same year he did. Do you know her, Julian?”
“Know who?” Bashir said uselessly.
“Elizabeth Lense?”
At this point, all he could do was grimace into his coffee. “I do know her,” he said. “She’s my ex-wife.”

“Until then, Doctor.” Elim politely took his leave; Bashir stared after him for a moment, his mind automatically reviewing his recent interactions with him to see if he could pinpoint what he was so bothered about, but he was distracted by Kira coming up to him to ask about the atmospheric specifications for the Yalosian ambassador who was arriving later that day. Apparently their test run had melted the carpet.
Bashir had been about to explain to Kira the replicator modifications she should also look into making when an explosion rocked the Promenade.

"Computer, please respond. Computer?"
Manually accessing the computer through the console failed to yield results as well and after a few continuous fruitless attempts, Bashir dejectedly resigned himself to picking some of the strewn about furniture up.
He stared at a chair and a vivid memory of it being knocked over during a scuffle with the Lethean (Altovar?) Quark had introduced earlier that day(?) flashed in his mind.
Oh no.
If the fact that his brain felt muddled and dulled was attributable to the influence of a Lethean, Bashir had found himself in a very, very unfortunate position.

Elim, the message read plainly. I am a bit regretful that we haven't seen much of each other lately. Perhaps we can have lunch together sometime soon.

Summary
Elim was about to offer to let her lie down in his backroom when he himself felt a sharp pang behind his eyes. For half a moment Elim almost panicked, recalling Bashir’s repeated warnings that the wire would break down someday, but then it was gone again. He blinked.
“We should get going,” Odo said stiffly.
“I agree, there’s so much to see and do today,” Ambassador Troi said, helping herself stand with Odo’s arm. “Elim dear, I’ll be back for those measurements.”
“I look forward to it, madame,” Elim said, and watched them go - then studied the crowd on the Promenade through his doors a little longer and much more openly than he usually did. After a moment he realized he was looking for someone.

Summary
Elim sighed loudly and let the PADD with Flowers for Dagam fall to the floor with a loud clank. Why didn't Pole just grab that bratty little Orion and have his merry way with him? It made no sense to Elim as to why a member of the human species - which was widely known for its incredible promiscuity - decided to toe around their object of desire like this. Pole could've made a proper Cardassian, if he wasn't so damn oblivious, Elim thought bitterly.
Then again, the novel Professor O'Brien had recommended did have some... effect on him.
