This piece makes me so happy. I love the warm color palette, the reds and pinks, their coordinating suits, how put together Bones and Spock are, how rumpled and unbuttoned Jim is, and their absolute physical awareness of each other as Bones and Spock pin Jim between them, and Jim pulls them both even closer. It's sexy and playful. Contains eye contact as Jim winks at the audience from between his two boyfriends.

I love the vibe of this piece. A beautiful sunny day on Atlantis's pier. Teyla and Elizabeth having a nice chat at the side of the pool. John just drifting, sunglasses on, and Rodney trying to get some work done under his gigantic umbrella, no idea he's about to get doused by a sneaky underwater Ronon. If Teyla and Elizabeth are the parents of this particular group, then the other three are definitely the bratty brothers.

Jim and Spock's online relationship is so sweet and nurturing and their offline relationship is so combative and the emotional tension is so, so good. I particularly like the way their online relationship changed the decisions we see them make in the movie, and how neatly the author rewrote the events of the movie to fit this version of Jim and Spock.

I really enjoyed how lettered has Spock, bombarded by all these new feelings, compare Kirk's behavior to other times he's seen Jim act that way. It's an excellent mechanism to show how Kirk's feeling without Spock necessarily being able to understand it and it describes an interesting distance between them. Also, just the way lettered writes Jim in general--so sunny, and giving, and open to pleasure--and Spock, reserved, methodical, and a bit of a troublemaker.

Talitha takes full advantage of this song, matching its strong, driving beat in her clip choices as Spock attempts to maintain his poker face in the face of disapproving Vulcans, James T. Kirk's whole thing, and, whoops, the destruction of his home planet. Kuwdora's remaster is a high quality version of the original vid, which was made with severely cropped cam footage at a weird angle, and, as a result, created a kind of intimacy in how close the vid got to the characters and the way it emphasized their facial expressions and movements. Kuwdora describes how they worked to preserve the original feel of Talitha's vid while using a high quality source and their notes are a fascinating look at the process and include screengrabs for comparison.
