The golden shine of his blood spreading down the wall and staining his clothes as the white haired man slowly slid down it. All Mydei could do in reply is curse out a HKS and kneel down at his side.

Phainon volunteers to go with Mydei to explore a recently discovered temple steeped in black tide on the far, far outskirts of Okhema. Something that would be normal and day to day for them twisted as Phainon has been avoiding Mydei for four weeks and counting. The Kremnoan's frustration boiling under his skin the whole time as they travel only to get stuck in a trapped room with a riddle to solve.

It was supposed to be innocent, just Phainon helping Mydei improve his science grade. Its not. Atleast not until they end up desperately dryhumping at eachother on the floor.

He leans in, bringing his lips towards the man’s pierced ear as his voice lowers even more. Silk coats every letter, and hunger rumbles through each syllable.
“What about the idea of me taking you right here, Lord Mydeimos?” He asks, and the Kremoan king’s hand leaves his spot by his head to curl into his white coat. “Will you grant me the pleasure of defiling your divine body?”

Summary

Interpreting that as an invitation for a one-on-one duel, he ordered the others to stand back and stand down, facing this man alone.
Neither of them expected to meet their one-and-only equal right there and then in this crumbling world.
Almost as if it was not their first meeting, but a long-awaited reunion.

Mydei had groaned, giving Phainon a light slap on the back before turning to her, speaking plainly.

“What’s wrong, my romantically-illiterate prince? Can’t catch me?”
No, Mydei had to prove this imbecile wrong. And he shall do so by courting him, and when Phainon would realise, at the end of it all, that he had actually pulled it off, Mydei would be the one laughing at his face instead.
Or the five times Mydei tries to 'understand romance' by courting Phainon and fails, and the one time he succeeds.
