To foreigners, Sriluur was a barren hellscape, dotted with settlements that could hardly be deemed habitable by those who disliked harsh, arid climates, but the Weequay flourished amid its dry scrublands and rocky fields. They themselves were used to it, adjusting to its weather over centuries, even eons of evolution, blessed with such adaptations as tough, leathery skin and recessed eyes that sat deep in their skulls, protecting them from the ever-frequent sandstorms that plagued their sun-baked world.
Ah, but the boy—the boy loved it. Though he had not yet ventured off-planet to experience any other ways of living, he could not even begin to imagine a place with a more preferable climate than this, yet he was sure his opinion was far from universal.
