And well he took him home because he can’t just leave him to die and because you can’t trust the police in Gotham. Then he finds out this very traumatized guy is actually a kid and he’s Batman’s kid. So then of course he keeps the kid because.. why not?

    Or Bucky stumbles across a Jason with a sliced throat takes him home and suddenly Bucky’s a father.
