Summary
Ty Lee has made many choices throughout her life that would deemed 'off the cuff.'
Whether it was at thirteen, when she high-tailed it away from her parents extravagant homestead to hop on a trading ship bound for Republic City, or just a short few years later when she auditioned for the biggest circus in town by jumping into the ring in the midst of a show all fake-it 'till you make it style. Never has her life been guided by careful decision making, no, not one bit. Her heart tempered her step, but more often than not she allowed the wind to carry her from one thing to the next.
One cannot live this way forever, but as always, she was determined to do so. What has it left her with? Nothing but a reviled face and a great many ghosts to her name. A lost and wayward soul. Here at the lowest point in her life, she returns to where she was born in an attempt to cling to whatever scraps remain.
What Ty Lee does not know is that broken people like her, people that are quickly becoming a shade of their former self, well... they tend to be drawn together. And in this case, not even death can do them part.

The memories of the Melting wouldn’t leave her, and neither did the grief. Glinda tried everything she could to fall asleep: switching rooms, rubbing lavender lotion on her hands, even drinking a foul tasting concoction that one of her handmaidens swore would put her to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow (it didn’t). And even when she did manage to fall asleep sometime just before dawn, Elphaba’s screams jarred her awake.
So one night Glinda found herself sitting at the desk in her study with a blank sheet of paper in front of her. Dear Elphaba, she wrote, and then watched the words waver at the top of the page. She crossed them out and started over. Dearest Elphaba . It was ridiculous. Elphaba would never read her words again. But she found that they came anyway, faster than she could commit them to paper.
Or: Glinda begins writing letters to Elphaba in the aftermath of the Melting. When she pushes herself beyond the point of exhaustion four years later, Chistery decides to take matters into his own hands and deliver the letters to Elphaba in an attempt to save Glinda's life.
