The first thing you need to know is that George is a witch. He comes from a long line of witches. He’s nowhere near as powerful as his mum or sister, but it’s okay because he never really cared to learn the craft like them. The magic is still there, buzzing constantly under his skin, wanting to be used.
The second thing you need to know is that he didn’t mean to make Patches into his familiar. He didn’t. He would have asked if he was going to do it on purpose.

It's just a storm. Dream knows everything will be fine and there's no reason for George and Sapnap to pack up and leave the state until it passes.
Plus, he and George only just figured everything out and got together. They're still too deep in the honeymoon phase to be separated by thousands of miles again.
Yet here they are, back to hours long calls that go a little differently now.

George was born without a second gender, apparently.
Not that it matters much to him, it's not like he's missing out on a whole lot.
Sure, he'd like to be able to smell Dream's scent; to know him on that one deeper level that he simply can't access, but it's fine! He's just George and it's fine!
He can still pine after Dream wistfully without a second gender. He can still be hopelessly and helplessly in love. It's not like Dream's ever not been there for George when he needs him.
However, does that still apply when George gets sick in the most unexpected way possible?
Or; George is a late bloomer and that makes already messy feelings between him and Dream even more difficult to navigate.

When George is finally able to move to Florida, the first thing Dream notices is the way his laugh bounces more clearly than ever before. The second thing he notices is the bright yellow aura surrounding him, like George had stolen the sun out of the sky and placed it in his heart instead. George is his soulmate, that much is clear, but trouble arises when George can't see Dream's aura in return.
OR
George moves to Florida, DNF realize they're soulmates, and there's a blatantly obvious reason why George can't see Dream's aura, but they're both idiots who can't connect two dots to save their lives.

“Good.” George sat up and kissed Dream on the cheek. “I’ve gotta go get blood.”
Dream offered his arm and George hummed, grabbing Dream’s arm and sinking his teeth into the flesh. He took a little more than usual on a normal day but it was what he needed. He didn’t want to feel starved and weak anymore. He didn’t want to be surviving. He wanted to be living. Dream was the key to his survival.

“I just –” Dream continued. “It’s just I really hoped it wouldn’t happen again.” He scoffed then, tone rising in intensity with every breath he took. “It’s not fucking fair. Soulmates are supposed to have this amazing thing getting to experience their happiest memory together when they first touch.”
There was an anger, a hatred, a passion in Dream’s words that George just couldn’t meet. He felt somber as the sentence left his lips: “Us touching for the first time is one of our happiest memories.”
It hadn’t fully clicked until he’d said it out loud.
Or, all Dream and George have ever known is intimacy without touch.

"Humans do cope with fear in interesting ways," it agrees. "Some ways are much more entertaining than others. You find this arousing?"
George scoffs. "The only 'arousing' I plan to be doing is a-RISING out of bed. Ha. Bye, idiot."
He pinches his arm. Nothing changes.
"Your heart is beating faster," the presence points out, feathers rustling as it shrugs its shoulders. "Do you still believe this is all fake?"

Things go very poorly for George while he's hunting a monster. . .but maybe there's a silver lining.

Summary
He could see George's teeth – his perfect front teeth, like little iridescent seashells pressed to his gums – working at his lip. Not biting it, not the harsh mean pressure Dream had put on himself a million times, just rubbing against it. It felt the same way that it did when George clutched his hands together. A safety thing. And Dream thought back to scraggly hoodie strings lit by New Years fireworks.
Dream had never been good at moving from place A to place B. It always felt awkward and stilted and like he was two seconds from tripping over his own feet. Maybe that’s why he and George had been stumbling over what their relationship was becoming for months now. But asking George if he wanted Dream to put his fingers in his mouth only felt like the next natural step, he supposed.

"You know, I always have wanted to know what went on in that dirty mind of yours...", Dream continued, letting his hands wander over George's body. Slowly and carefully. The brunet held his breath, desperately trying to calm himself down. He knew that this was wrong. And yet this was something he has never experienced before.
"If you pictured yourself doing things with me...", Dream chuckled, "Or me doing things with you for that matter... Things like... me pinning you down at a wall or a bed...", Dream took both of his friend's hands in his left one, pinning them against the wall behind him.
“Like this…”In a universe where everybody is combined with a certain star sign, which categorizes you into certain types of personalities, George found himself being the only one that hasn't found his true love yet. He just knew that in two days his best friend would get married and that with this event Dream would get a new life. One, George desperately wanted, too.
What he didn't know though, was that named best friend would drink enough at his bachelor party to start something he really shouldn't have.

Dream has Anhidrosis, something that has been looming over his head for the past 21 years of his life. But it’s a curse. He can’t do sports, he can’t do physical activity, he can’t do many things. So why live a life where you can’t show physical love?

George has dreams often, in fact, his dreams are often quite vivid and often end up with him either sleepwalking or talking, or both. But he has not had a sex dream like that in quite some time. He can’t stop thinking about it, even if he takes away the sex component of the dream, he can still find pleasure in thinking about the man that had the dream version of himself being fucked within an inch of his life. His shoulders, his chest, his breathy moans, his strong stubbled chin, the chain… ughhh the chain.
If George takes away only one thing from this dream, he knows that the next time he has sex, whoever it is, whoever it is with, they will be wearing a pretty chain around their neck.Or,
