jungkook spills half his drink on himself, whipping around so fast to follow taehyung’s gaze to the front hallway, but jimin just rolls his eyes.
“where?” he asks, going on his toes slightly to see over jungkook’s head, “that little guy in the leather jacket?"
“no, no, next to him,” taehyung hisses and jimin frowns.
“that’s kim seokjin. i’ve definitely already fucked him, i snapchatted you, remember?”
“no not jin-hyung,” jungkook says, “behind him. in the thrasher hoodie.”
jimin is about to start audibly scoffing, but then the crowd gathered around the front door of whoever’s apartment this is parts different, ripples like a wave around the person who has just arrived with seokjin and his small, angry, hot friend - yoombi, jimin thinks his name might have been - and, oh.
“hold my beer,” jimin says.

The man in the bowler hat would later tell Jason that everything that had happened to him was a viewer’s choice award for him and Salim. And the marine would even agree: getting out of that hell, even at such a cost, was a fucking gift of fate. But when Jason had to experience the same day over and over again, from the moment he fell into the ruins of the ancient temple to the end of the eclipse, it felt like a real curse. Like purgatory. Like punishment for all the bad things he'd ever thought and done.

Salim.He couldn’t even say the name without his already small voice cracking in half at the syllable break. He cleared his throat and tried again. As if he could call him back, will him into needing Jason as much as Jason needed him, returning to him with some grand gesture not in shining armour on a noble steed but in army greens with eyes sweeter than chocolate.

Salim looked so deeply relaxed, so content, the horrors of the past three days clearly leaving the building as the building was slowly turning itself back into a temple. One Jason was more than keen on praying at. Warm-toned, clean skin of Salim’s thick arms and fit chest glistened like a thousand diamonds in a cave, one of his legs casually, carelessly, tantalisingly dangling over the edge and dripping on the floor, Salim lounging among the sparse bubbles like a fucking Adonis.

It had been just the two of them for a very long time, and with Zain staying in the university’s dorms, Salim only had the company of a cactus his neighbor had given him as a welcome gift. It got a bit too quiet for comfort in the evenings, sure. The noise coming from the TV and the radio aren't the same as a living breathing human, but he was starting to adjust to the environment.
He sat with the same group of teachers every lunch break, and he was friendly with his neighbors. He didn’t make any enemies (at least none he knew of), and he was nice to everyone he came by.
Salim would say he was doing well.
