It’s high pitched and animal, more terror than anything else, like something is being ripped out. It's agonizing in Colt's head, bleeding and cracking. His throat hurts and the pressure behind his eyes is explosive. Something is building inside of him and it scares him because it won’t stop. It just won’t stop.

While working on solving the issue of Grace slowly dying of starvation, malnutrition, and a host of other issues, the Eridians discover the human internet (largely Wikipedia) and fall down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out everything they can about the needs of their squishy alien savior. While most of their focus is on the food issue, another link catches their (metaphorical) eyes.
"Touch starvation, also known as touch deprivation or skin hunger, is the physiological need by humans and other species for physical contact with their own species or other living beings."
No one is happy about this.

Stratt's title was Director, so Ryland guessed it fit.

Dr. Herrick is chatting up Grace in the corner. Or at least, he’s trying to. Grace is mostly avoiding eye contact, glancing across the room every few seconds towards particularly lively conversations, or looking down at his pack of sour skittles.
Usually, Stratt doesn’t spend much time down here in the bar with the rest of the crew—she’s busy, and she doesn’t particularly wish to soften her reputation. But she has mindless emails to answer tonight, and anyway, she’s been wanting to see how Grace interacts with the others. She’s been curious.

“That’s funny, real, fuckin’ funny, March,” Healy sneers down at him. “You don’t get that luxury when you can’t even take care of yourself.”
March furrows his eyebrows, having the gall to look offended. Healy resists the urge to punch him. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Or Healy gets to see what March does when things get bad. Neither are equipped to handle the emotions that come with it, and they're both having a bad time on the bathroom floor.

Ryland Grace woke with a start, opening his eyes before quickly squeezing them shut against the bright light of the room. His head was tipped back, the top pressing back into a soft surface. Turning his face to the side, away from the direct view of the light, he gave a few cautious blinks until his eyes adjusted. After a moment, he carefully looked up, rolling his head into an upright position to look around the room.
It featured two rows of reclined leather chairs, the back row elevated slightly above the front. The right arm of each chair featured a few buttons on a small keypad. In each seat there was a member of the Project Hail Mary research and mission team. Most of the members were blinking awake like he was, although some were still unconscious.or
The members of the Project Hail Mary find themselves in a cinema, forced to watch a film which supposedly shows their future. Their captor tells them this will allow them to save Earth (and Erid) but how?or
