The shit she must’ve seen during that month, thinking that the team weren’t looking for her or coming to get her. That isolation and loneliness that Yang would’ve felt broke Blake’s heart. “I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.”

    Whoever was carrying her smelled like crisp apples and fall.
    The pain ran through her body in waves like she had never felt. The last thing she remembered feeling was the softness of fabric under her, then around her. The loss of the warm body replaced by, what she assumed, were blankets.
    Then it all went completely black.
