From a dying planet, controlled by a twisted corporation called ConCorp, Etho was chosen from 19.8 billon people to be shoved on a shuttle and shot out into space to bring humanities dream of manifest destiny to light. Out of every person in the world, Etho was the unlucky bastard to be shoved front and center.

Summary
A bolt of what looks like black lightning slams into the dirt, scorching the area where they had just been standing.
Not the warmest of greetings, but not surprising either.
Gem bares her teeth, raising her wings and looking up towards the house. Pearl is perched on the railing, her sword leveled at a shadowy figure standing in front of the door. The whole world seems to freeze as the shadow’s head tilts. It lifts its hand slowly, pointing a finger at Pearl, and then draws it diagonally across its body. A rip appears and splits across his body. Dark, voidic tentacles erupt from the rip, grab hold of Pearl and yank her in. The rip closes behind her.
“Pearl!” Gem screams.
Or, the man of the forest did not want to be found.

Summary
