The chick withdrew its beak again, making Bruce feel like the worst human being in existence.
He had done everything he had read on internet. He had splinted the chick's wing with popsicle sticks, and prepared pellets of ground beef, cat food, hard-boiled eggs, cottage cheese, fruit, and boiled corn supplemented with calcium carbonate for the crow to eat.
Still, the chick refused to eat, and Bruce didn't understand why.
