Kimi’s PR manager had taken his phone. She hadn’t said anything, just softly extracted the device from his hand, patted his shoulder, and walked away. He’d been scrolling all night. Comment after common after comment. Thousands of DMs. Telling him he was an awful driver. Calling him a sellout. Threatening him. Saying he should kill himself.
The worst were the ones that said Max had to hate him now. The ones that implied that Kimi’s mentor had turned on him. That his friend and one of four adults on the grid he felt like he could count on hated him. \
