It’s a simple favor. Descend the stairs into the faculty storage room, retrieve the dated newspapers All Might needed for his lecture, and make his way back up. His teacher had even given him the keys.
What Izuku doesn’t expect among the dozens of shelves is a gnarled, shattered mask nestled tightly in the back of the aisle. A mask with rusting ventilator pipes and a metallic scowl. A mask bearing a familiar face.
He expects it even less when he begins to see that face everywhere he turns. Every time the lights go out.Izuku becomes very, very afraid of the dark.

After dying in a villain attack during his walk home from school, Midoriya Izuku wakes from a strange dream to find himself completely unharmed. This in and of itself wouldn’t be an issue were his second chance at life not characterized by strange, inexplicable bodily transformations and a far too nosy spectral companion with an agenda as mysterious as it is evidently malicious.
As Izuku’s life begins to spiral horribly out of control, he can only be certain of two things. Mortals shouldn’t make deals with gods. And once they do, there’s absolutely no going back.

"Is that my hoodie?" He asked innocuously, eyes betraying his tone. Momo blinks back, feining innocence. Hoodie? What hoodie? Not the plain black pullover hoodie that is several sizes too big on her, where she's practically swimming in it. It must be a coincidence!
Since living together, Momo's lived by the rule of what's yours is mine, especially when it comes to clothes. It is their closet after all. It's fair game! At first, he wouldn't say anything. He would either get flustered or, on occasion, give her that lovestruck, dopey smile she adores. He'd also mutter how cute she was under his breath, thinking she wouldn't hear it.
Then came the passive-aggressive remarks months later.
"Nice sweater. Where did you get it?"
"Oh, I didn't know you got a new shirt. Looks just like mine."
"I didn't know you like men's basketball shorts, too."
She would, on occasion, give back whatever she totally didn't steal, albeit begrudgingly. Today, though, she came prepared and she's not going down without a fight.

Izuku Midoriya has thought a lot about Izuku Midoriya. Not that Izuku likes to do so, but there is only so much you can focus on when on enforced medical rest. The questions are things Izuku thought long behind, but they aren't. One for All was supposed to help Izuku stop flinching at mirrors, or prevent the phantom twisting deep in the skin. It didn't.
Now Izuku Midoriya tries to find answers. Take a chance on something. Use the advice given, the help received, and finally stop feeling like an imposter wearing the wrong skin.One problem. Izuku Midoriya doesn't really know what to want out of all this. A new chance, but nothing to spend it on. No goal to reach, no image to chase.
Izuku needs help. Finding it was, to Izuku's surprise, as simple as asking. The girls of 1A, plus their honorary members Mei and Himiko, are prepared to do anything to make this chance perfect. If that happens to involve some lewder things... well, maybe they don't mind sharing all that much.

Izuku wakes because of the nightmares, the ones that bring the oppressive weight of his cloak of expectations that never leaves his shoulders. He wakes and knows he will not fall back asleep, despite the late hour.
Momo wakes, though she is not sure as to why. But when she finds Midoriya in the common room, so late in the night, she is sure that she has to help in any way she can.
Expectations are discussed, trust is formed, and tea is shared between a pair of insecure teenagers.

“It’s me.” Midoriya’s voice was soft, even softer than usual. After a moment, green light flared to life around him, blowing stray strands of his hair about his face in an erratic way. The glow of his Quirk cast him in a haunting, nearly ethereal light, masking the bags that had taken up near-permanent residence beneath his eyes. “How do you feel?”
“My head,” Momo started, raising one hand to try to touch it, before giving up halfway there.
“You hit it pretty hard,” Midoriya murmured. “The bleeding has stopped, at least, but we need to get it looked at when we get out of here.”
“Where is here?” Momo asked.
Midoriya’s face twisted unpleasantly with whatever answer he was about to share with her, and he sighed. “We were buried.”
