“It’s just an old reel of me and Hwa,” Hongjoong said, flipping the phone around and proving it. His hyung looked at it for a moment and then shrugged.
“Whatever. If you wanna look at photos of your…best friend,” he whispered, keeping his voice down, though he waggled his eyebrows. “I won’t stop you. It’s cute, honestly. I also look at pics of my wife when we travel. But only the innocent kind. She’d kill me if I had anything else where someone could find it.”
“Hyung,” he whined, thunking his head back against the seat and groaning. “I’m getting some sleep for real this time,” he stated, serious now. His hyung shrugged and got up to go find the bathroom leaving the producer to click off his phone and close his eyes.
Wife… He snorted, pulling his hoodie up around his face to block out some of the light. He’s not my wife.
But the thought stayed there, latched onto his brain.

Summary

Lee Felix recently graduated from Seoul University, where he moved through university as a gray mouse, unnoticed by everyone. He works as an underpaid IT Support Technician at a firm that doesn't value its employees at all. However, Felix endures it. He has to endure it; if not, debt collectors - out to collect his father's debt - will show up at his door demanding money.
Every month is a struggle; he barely manages to pay his rent, study debt, and the debt left by his deadbeat father. For Felix, a proper meal consists of bread from his favorite corner shop with some off-brand chocolate spread. It does help that Fresh Cove, the gentrified hell-hole of a grocery store, offers free samples almost every single day!
Everything gets a lot worse when Felix is forced to find a new job and realizes that the obnoxious rich bastard from Fresh Cove is his new boss.
Who the fuck decided that Bang Chan, the most annoying person in the entire world, was to be his boss? Had it not been for the great salary provided by Racha, then Felix would have gladly drowned Chan in a bucket of boiling hot coffee - though that would ruin his perfectly curled hair and beautiful smile. Fuck that shit. Felix was furious.

“Yeah, yeah.” Felix grips the door frame, body still halfway into the hallway. “Can’t bother the RA too much. People will talk, won’t they?” Felix is joking. He’s definitely joking, a playful sort of banter that anyone would say, but Chan feels taken aback by it.
“Thank you for the job security,” Chan says emphatically, eyelids fluttering closed as he gives a dramatized press of his palm against his chest.
“Any time,” Felix says. He doesn’t move away from the door.
Chan does what his monkey-brain tells him to without thinking twice of it. “Do you want to come in? I’m not doing anything important.”

Summary
Chan had a history of clinging to things only when he risked losing them. It wasn’t healthy, but lots of things about him weren’t healthy. If an old shirt developed a hole, he wore it for a week straight before finally throwing it in the trash. It used to make Felix laugh, make him unbearably fond.
He wondered how long he had left being clung to, the old shirt that Chan was on the verge of throwing away. He wondered if it would hurt more to be cut off entirely, or if this agonising lingering was worse.
