Arthur's eyes caught onto a blue swatch of fabric, tied against a tree branch. He nudged Hengreon forward. It was Merlin's neckerchief. Stained with the earth, sweat, and... blood.
"Sire?" Agravaine called. His voice was distorted by the faint ringing in his ears.
"We're close." Arthur straightened, carefully folding the neckerchief, "This is Merlin's."
Agravaine was beside him, now, "This piece of cloth? Sire, we can hardly-"
He held up a hand, silencing his uncle, "It's his. I would know it anywhere."

Summary
Merlin shouldn’t have turned himself into a tree…
1500 years ago it seemed like a smart idea - wait out the years until Arthur’s return as part of nature, without having to interact with anyone. He wasn’t expecting the lake to expand and for his tree to end up in the shallows. Nor was he expecting to be spat out randomly on what he assumed to be an ordinary sunset.Now he’s stuck in the middle of a lake, a recently resurrected Arthur Pendragon in his arms and someone is staring at them.

Summary
Arthur has let his manservant get away with many things that should have seen him removed from his position and tossed out of Camelot. The disappearing act that caused him to be late has Arthur raging, searching for his dolt of a servant. It seems that an Omega has taken up residence in Arthur's chambers, and Merlin isn't there to deal with it, perhaps because the Omega is Merlin.
