Oikawa delivers his message without a flinch, his gaze glued to the side of Hajime’s throne like any mage’s supposed to do. Mages do not look directly to their royal family.
Oikawa has never been one to follow protocol, though. Maybe, realising he’s actually following it now is what makes Hajime’s heart skip a beat.
“Is that it? You come and tell me you are all marrying me off to some random person?”
Oikawa grimaces, “He’s not random,” with a sigh, Oikawa finally, finally, meets Hajime’s gaze.
“I didn’t agree to this.”
Hajime growls when Oikawa snorts at him. “As if that mattered,” the cold hit of that sentence does something nasty to Hajime’s stomach. “You are the son of the King, you don’t get to decide these things.”

Until the stars aligned and he laid eyes on a hockey player who commanded the rink and unknowingly flipped Oikawa’s life upside down. He /has/ to have him. He /wants/ him, and Oikawa Tooru /always/ gets what he wants (much to Iwaizumi's frustration). It's hard to want what you can't have, but sometimes, what you can't have is the most tempting.

“I hate my life,” Oikawa complained miserably.
“Why? Because your neighbour’s hot and he doesn’t like you?” Kuroo asked, plopping down on the couch next to Oikawa.
“Because my neighbour’s hot and he doesn’t like me,” Oikawa confirmed, lip jutting out in a pout.
“To be fair, you did let your dog almost maul him,” Kuroo reminded, head jerking to the Akita whose ears perked up at his mention.
“I did not ‘let him!’” Oikawa shouted, appalled by the accusation.
For Oikawa Tooru, his dog has been the most important part of his life for the past three years. He's content that his world revolves around Aki until his new neighbour, Iwaizumi Hajime, moves in and Oikawa realizes that there's definitely room in his heart for more than one.
But his dog isn't as keen on the idea and doesn't hesitate to make his displeasure known. It's easy for Iwaizumi to earn Oikawa's love but he comes as a package deal. Unfortunately for Iwaizumi, earning Aki's proves difficult although he isn’t willing to give up that easily.
Cue: lots of vying for Oikawa's attention, gratuitous wooing, unintentional fame, and a case of dognapping.

Clearly Iwaizumi had a checkered past. Kyoutani has never asked about it, nor has Iwaizumi ever brought it up. He knows it’s a sore spot for his mentor, just like the gorgeous Monte Carlo he keeps hidden away is, so he leaves it alone. Out on the streets, you learn a little something about when to turn a blind eye in order to survive; Kyoutani knows better than most to leave the past of men like Iwaizumi well alone.
It’s probably got something to do with the boy in the polaroids, though.
Retired pickpocket & conman Iwaizumi Hajime receives an invitation he can't possibly decline, pulling him back into his old life to work a job with his old friends and ex-lover Oikawa Tooru. His mostly-legit apprentice Kyoutani gets dragged along for the ride. It's a complete mess.Series
